I have a Netgear WGR614v8. Works good, great speed, great price.
-
Actiontec MI424WR, is free from Verizon so I won't complaint. Nevertheless it works fine.
-
NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless-N WNR834B .

Wish I had N lol.

WRT54G v3 DD-WRTmini
WRT54g v5 DD-WRT
TRENDNET TEW-432BRP -
WRT54g -> the original version...aka the best
-
Same here, except mine loses a connection occasionally and needs to be rebooted. Oddly it occurs most often in the evening, around the same time-11:00
-
Linksys WRT54G.
The firmware can be flashed to support DD-WRT which basically gives u a lot more fancy options and settings to play with....such as increasing ur signal output power to gain a better signal. It works fine and does its job. Doesn't seem to like too many walls though...signal strength can be low if its not properly placed. -
Tha's too much of coincidence. I wonder if is related to the other signals carried by the fiber. For example, and I'm just speculalting, the coaxs going into the setup boxes could get their program/else be updated at night at 11PM, is just an idea. Is someone recording a program every day at 11PM?
I'm thinking of the coaxs services because I don't what else could have such deterministic schedule. -

D-Link DIR-655. Probably one of the best wireless-N routers out there.

agreed!!!!!
same as me........ -

Same here. -
Why do you say so?
-
I have had the Linksys WAP4400N for about a month now so far so good.
-
Funny thing is, Verizon doesn't offer FiOS TV in my area. Only in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to start, Central PA isn't expected to get it for sometime although Verizon's in talks with our local governments.
-
Same Actiontec as previous posters have with their FiOS service. Although I have a router passthrough set up so my actual network routing is handled by my 2.2 WRT54g running HyperWRT.
-
It is not the walls. It is what is inside them. Mine works flawlessly in my 3 story house and I took it for a lan party in a very old house with thick walls and it was barely giving signal on the second floor. Later on I found out that the walls had metal in them
.

Belkin F5D7231-4. I'm quite satisfied with it)
-
Linksys Wired BEFSR41... Old School....
8 years and counting.
It's 2000's best routeur.... says so on the box
-
Then look at the system log, check what is going on around 11PM, you should find something there.

Buffalo AirStation Wireless-N Nfiniti WZR2-G300N
Great router/access point... but not sold in the US any longer. -
There must be a reason for that!
-
yup..patent infringement
-
Dlink DIR-655 Xtreme N Router...AWESOME ROUTER and has not failed on me yet for my wireless g PS3 and a bunch of my friends laptops.
-
WRT54GS. Been up and running for over 7 years, now.
I was waiting for the D-Link 855 with dual radios, but since that seems like it is never going to happen (or at least not anytime soon
), I might go ahead with the DIR-655. I installed a couple of them at clients' homes, and they have worked great.

WRT54GL over here. My cable internet speed is 20 Mb so wireless "G" is more than enough.
Why bother with all this draft-N wireless stuff?
-
WRT350n with dd-wrt and WRT600n with stock firmware.

netgear wgr614v6 =x
Looking into a new router with good range, any recommendations? -

I have a Linksys WRT160N, it's a wireless-n router.
-
i have
D-Link DGL-4300, currently broke (after 4+ years), D-Link will replace for no charge
after DGL-4300 broke i bought Linksys WRT600N, complete utter crap, worst Router i ever had.
2 days later returned WRT600N, and got D-Link DGL-4500.
DGL-4500 very solid router, will keep both DGL-4500 and DGL-4300 (once i get new one) -

I have 3. My main router is a 8 port Netgear FVS-338 VPN Endpoint router. I use VPN to connect to my network when away from home. Currently on V3 firmware and is very solid. Never hangs or lock ups. The only time it is rebooted is on firmware updates. The end point allows me to see my whole network as I was there locally.
I also have a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 used as a AP with dd-wrt firmware. I also have a Actiontec router the Verizon FIOS supplied for the service. Used for the VOD and on screen programming for there TV service. -
I have a D-Link DI-524, old generic Wireless-G only router but it's always worked pretty well.
Also have an SMC Barricade N SMCWBR14-N, it's OK - good range and speed, but needs to be reset a lot. And by that I mean a lot, every couple of days most of the time. -
I had a D-Link WBR-2310. I'd say it was okay for half a year with a few disconnects here and there but after that half a year, it just fell apart. Disconnects every 5-10 minutes on wireless AND wired. Terrible.
Now, I bought myself a Linksys WRT54GL with dd-wrt. So far so good. -
Cisco 1760 with WIC1ADSL card ^_^ hooked up to cisco 1200b access point

I've owned a few WRT54G's over the years. I had a v5 working very nicely with DD-WRT until I changed the firmware incorrectly and bricked it. I'd like to put DD-WRT on my v8 but I already bricked one v8 so I am not going to try again. I should look into getting a WRT54GL because I miss DD-WRT.
I also owned a WRT150N for 30 minutes until I discovered every time my phone rang it killed the net connection. I'll take another look at N when I get my next laptop because I plan on storing all my media on a network server so I'll need decent wireless speeds. -
"I also owned a WRT150N for 30 minutes until I discovered every time my phone rang it killed the net connection"
-Whenever this happens, dont blame the router, its the microfilter you should be looking at. Also make sure all your phone sockets in the house are filtered too just to be on the safe side. Id also recommend to get a separate line for your fax machine if you have one because it does interfere with ADSL signal. -
It was the router though, as my DSL has worked for over 5 years without any problems from my WRT54G router. The desktop that had a wired connection to the router was fine too, it just killed the wireless.
-
TRENDnet TEW-432BRP. Cheap, reliable, wireless-g router that gets the job done. Was pretty difficult to set up WPA2 encyrption on it though, but once I did, it pretty much took over from there. Haven't lost a connection yet:]
-
SMC2804WBR. I've had this thing for ages.. A little slow, temperamental, but it still hasn't had any real problems, so I not bothered to buy a new one.
-
old linksys v 4.1 befsr41...netgear proline wg320 WAP for the wireless side...have a wrt54g v.8...wasn't happy with it's extended range...so went back to the old wired one and now use the WAP for my wireless network...
-
Actiontec MI424WR, it has 4 ethernet ports and comes with WiFi, very easy to configure. I just had some difficulties to setup WPA but I will try again soon.
