Go on gits! Let's see!

I pay for 24 and get 14 but today we are re-wiring it so we should get higher..Will post in about 5 hours =)

Can't you select a closer server (150mi)? you might get a better score. -
uploading stuff is so much fun... -
no argument there
-
York UK mofo!
-
Yeah, he has you beat by a factor of 10.
-
-
Heh, well that was my office. I would probably be ashamed to post home. Its probably 1800 down 800 up
-
Yes, shame on you, then now I'm the winner so far :twitcy:
-
How can your internet be so fast?
its impossible for me to imagine how much downloads u guys must be doing.
this is mine:
considered FAST in Asia.
-
I have fiber, 15Mbps DL and 1.6Mbps UL. And believe me Internet is never fast enough
-
My speed test... one with the recommended server from speedtest and the other with a random chosen server, northern Italy to SF!!!
-
-
I don't think anyone's scores can beat my download speed (wireless 802.11g) -
-
-
-
That's not bad at all, you have cable?
-
-
Verizon provides FIOS (fiber), is the fastest, price varies, it depends if oyu take the bundle package (tv, phone and internet), I pay $110 for the bundle. I think Internet would be $50, I'm not sure.
Have you tried to optimize your ISP access? Or you are getting what they sold to you. -
Yeah, it does.
I got almost as fast connecting from my notebook while using my Sprint Mogul as a cellular modem (over Sprint's EVDO Rev A network):
For this test I used WMWifiRouter to turn the Mogul into a wireless access point and then connected to it via wifi on the laptop. That's a pretty speedy mobile solution! -
I've seen that FIOS malarkey. They have to come in and rewire you computer and half your house. I'd rather not go through all of that.
Besides, this connection I've had since.....2002 or 2003, I think, so this is probably what they sold to me. Still, how do I optimize ISP access?
Also, there's an alarm system set up in the house. I hear that slows down the connection significantly. -
Huh? "Rewire your computer and half your house?"
Where are you getting that? -
I don't know what yo are talking about, Verizon doesn't rewire everything in the house. The ONT (fiber terminal) is installed outside the house, and they just bring the cat5 cable inside where your router is, the rest remains the same. I forgot, they also install a UPS unit in case you are taking also the phone service, this normally is installed in the basement.
Check in your ISP web site, they have an application to do that, I have even done it for my connection and it works at its maximum. -
20/5 here, but due to routing issues in Florida it never shows full speed on speed tests.
-
using recommended server
-
WOW, wish i lived on campus!!
-
???????????????? -
-
That's impossible, you cannot get this kind of throughput on cable, is just technically not possible.
-
I got it, and I also got 48,XXX again, multiple times...
-
Where are you located and how can you get such a throughput? Do you know what is the modulation being used?
-
Check the location on my... posts?
I don't know how I get so much thoroughput.. -
I know very well where you live, but are you getting this at home or at a campus, home office, at work, etc. Who is your ISP? I would love to get their services too
How much do you pay for? -
Guitarrasdeamor Notebook Evangelist
-
Home, standard $49/mo Comcast.
I went to the U of M campus yesterday, and the crappy computer there got like 39,xxx down, 11,xxx up. -
-
I don't get it, Comcast here in Maryland doesn't offer nearly close to 8Mbps, how is possible that people are getting 22Mbps and other 60Mbps?
-
I think they are are using the new LaserGuide Combo Modem-Router....
EDIT: Just kidding
-
-
-
i was permantly boosted to around 25/2.5 i live north of balitmore maryland, for reasons i have no idea. isnt powerboost and doesnt drop off, its very nice.
-
-
i too just live right outside of the fios area, but i get the same speeds for slightly less money
-
-
heh where do you live? are yours always like that?
-
I wish I had that, I cannot believe that Comcast powerboost does that. Is powerboost making all packet traffic use UDP rather than TCP, how do they get greater throughput than fiber?
Whose got the best speed test results then?
