I got only Integrated Wireless Lan 802.11 b/g in my notebook. I want to know is this the same thing we call Wi-Fi?
Im from India and going for a tour next month to Europe. Will my Wireless Lan 802.11 b/g work there for connecting to the net?
What are the general method for connection to the net through Wireless Lan 802.11 b/g OR Wi-Fi (installation and availability, ISP) and what are the appx. Charges, please tell me.

No WiFi = wireless fidelity. Yes WiFi is the same thing as wireless lan. I dont know if Europe uses the 802.11b/g standard so that I cant answer

Standards are exactly that. For example, if you stay at a hotel that offers wireless internet access and they use 802.11b or 802.11g, then you can connect.

Yeah, b/g should work just fine for hotels and internet cafes and such. You'll only need the "a" capability if you're going into a business environment.
Wi-Fi = Wireless Lan ??
