Yesterday I had no problems going online. Then Windows Automatic Updates appeared and gave me the familiar warning that I had 5 minutes before my computer would automatically restart. I allowed the updater to have its way and now, while I can now get a strong a signal, after restarting me computer a few times and attempting to repair my connection, I cannot get online. For obvious reasons I'm going to assume some update in my Windows Automatic Update caused this to happen, but I wouldn't know where to look or how to disable this so-called update. Any ideas or recommendations would be most appreciated. Thank you!

For starters, what OS are you running? Also, do the following: Start->Run->"ipconfig /all" (without the quotation marks) and post the results here.
More likely than not, you got a security update that caused something in your network setup to get reset to its default values, which means that it's no longer working with the rest of your network setup.
The better solution is to reset your network settings, not getting rid of what might be a very important update. -
Sorry, I had thought I mentioned it was Windows XP, SP2.
