Last night i uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them.
It's built in, but i think it's intel.

Ok well leave the LAC enabled. Umm..when u click the link that u posted and click yes to submit the request to microsoft does it give u any info.? Because it doesn't tell me anything when I click it.
-
It just sends me off on one of microsoft's wild goosechases. "Select the general problem, now do this, and this and this and this. btw, this isn't gonna help you"
-
Okay, give me the Event ID # and the Source Name.
-
ID - 14103
Source - PSched -
Are there any other errors that u see in there that could be the source of the problem? Like talking about the netwok card...etc
-
That did talk about the "netcard"???
no other errors apart from that one. -
Ok..i'm not really seeing any direct solutions but try this. Under computer management..the same window where Event Viewer is..at the bottom by the Services section, look for QoS RSVP and stop it if it's started and disable it...and see if that helps anything.
Edit: BTW, what router are u using?
Do you know if the WiFi card has another wireless network utility program that manages it's wireless connection? You should disable it if there it one. -
It's a D-Link DIR 625.
Ok, i'll do that....
I'm trying to figure out what expansion port this laptop has so i can look into buying a new network card.... Lenovo 3000 c200, but i'm struggling to find what it is.
let me do that
thanks for all your help man! -
It was stopped i just disabled it, what does that do?
-
-
So what now? Give up? we've tried so many things possible.... i'll google the media disconnected thing tonight, i've got some studying to do.
-
Not yet...try download and installing these drivers...I'm not sure what brand u have, whether Intel or Broadcom. You can go to Device Manager and look at the card's properties..that might give u a clue as to who the manufacturer is. Click for drivers.

RESOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg i'm so happy.
I took forever and found an up-to-date version of the bios, reinstalled the network adapter drivers and changed some setting i can't remember what it was..... It is now up and running. Needless to say my mother is ecstatic and so am i, 24 hours later. It's amazing how gay windows can be.
I'm really pumped. -
When you say that you found an up-to-date of the BIOS, are you saying that you actually flashed the BIOS?
-
I just downloaded the bios update from the lenovo website, is that "flashing" the bios?
-
No that I know, I think you are talking of something else, to flash the BIOS isn't very complicated but a laborious task to do, not just a download.
-
Ok, what is the point of flashing the BIOS? Don't you remove the CMOS chip?
-
That would work too, but to flash the BIOS is done either by burning an iso file into a CD or making a bootable flash drive and put the new BIOS there, then when you boot you have to follow a process to flash the BIOS.
As I said is not extremely complicated but not a regular task neither. -
Hmmm, why not just download the new bios???
-
It just doesn't work like that, the BIOS chipset will not change its content as the laptop is on, that's why we must boot from the CD or the flash drive, remember the whole computer is working harmoniously as per some basic instructions about how to talk to the peripherals, you give some wrong step then you brick your computer. As a matter a fact your battery must have enough juice so if your loose current during the flashing process you don't suffer a brick again.
But you are saying that you downloaded the BIOS, so I'm lost. -
-
Yeah, i know... Thanks for all your help man. REP!
-
Interesting............!
-
You've never done that before? Most companies have programs that update the bios like that. I understand how it's weird, but i think they tell the bios what needs to be updated, then you restart and it boots with the new info coming from i dunno where. i duuno, idc, it works! That's all that matters!
-
Nope, I have never done that before, we normally flash the BIOS.
-
well i've never "Flashed" the BIOS, but I have done the above before. Basically "Updating" the BIOS...;with the latest version. I think of it as like installing the latest drivers for a device..in this case the BIOS. You just download the setup file from the manufacturer's website, install it then restart the computer. Thas it!
-
But you need the updater utility application though.
My ignorance was that "flashing" was the only way to get the new BIOS, but here we are talking about downloading the new version, which is great, so I learned something today, I feel a little bit less ignorant
Windows hates me. I swear. Wireless help please!
