I have Asus M70VM with 802.11n wireless adapter,and i'm running the windows vista home premium.
I used to have a desktop which connected to the internet via an access point which was connected to the desktop via ethernet cable(RJ45),and the access point recived signal from an antena placed somewhere in the town.So the network architecture was:
desktop------->access point(connected to the desktop via cable(RJ45))--------->antena(WLAN)
Now I've bought this laptop and i am wondering if i am able to get the signal from the antena with my wireless(802.11n):
laptop-------->antenna(WLAN)
Can someone explain me what to do?

Is this some sort of service you subscribe to? I doubt you can connect directly to the antenna because it sounds somewhat like Clearwire.
-
I dont think so beacuse i have nokia n81 and when i go to the WLAN option it detects all three antenas in the town,so it must be somehow detectable to the laptop too.

Well it is possible that the internal wifi antenna in your notebook just doesn't pick up the signal because the cell phone and your access point probably have better ones. Do you still have the access point and can connect it to your notebook?
-
yes.i still have the access point.Do you think that my 802.11n wireless in my laptop is worse than the access point and phone?
-
does anyone have any idea on how to do this?

And not 50 minutes later, either.
