I am confused, frustrated, perplexed!
On my home wireless network, which is a D-Link 655, when I get farther away from the router my mouse hangs up for a sec when I type. In my den is where I use my laptop mostly, which is about 20 feet from my router with a wall in between. When I go to my back porch, being about another 20 feet is where it starts to slow down, or shall I say where my mouse starts to hang up.
My wireless signal will still show full strength. Any ideas out there???
BTW, If I use my Verizon and disconnect from my home network it does not do it.

Is your adapter set to roam quickly to the nearest signal or not? The move may be triggering the system to poll to see if there's a better signal to jump to, and that polling will monopolize the FSB and could be causing the USB devices to pause for a sec. waiting for the FSB to become free.

I moved my router into the same room where I mostly use my laptop today. It is not doing it anymore. However, I also did some tweaks from the NPR Tips & Tweaks page. I can honestly say that his string of tips really did do some wonders.

Toyo: are you using a wireless mouse with your laptop, if so what kind?

Yes, I am using a Logitech VX450 laser mouse, or something like that. It has the tiny reciever that fits into the USB port.
I thought about the mouse being the problem but it only did it while on the Dlink connection.
