Well ... that is what it is for, after all. It is 802.11B/G, so it should be compatible with most PCs. You do have wireless in your PC? You should also be able to plug into the router directly. -
It should go fine with gaming/internet. Looks like a mainstream Linksys, good choice.

thanks for the info, i didnt want my game to just die cause of my connectivity

it wont. I have used it in my house for the last 5ish years and its been rock solid. We have them out in schools where up to 32 laptops are connected and they hold up perfect. Best router ever made for its price range in my opinion.

The newer models v5+ are not near as good as the older ones. You may find that it will drop connection or lockup if you open to many symontanious connections. The GL mode is what the older model was. Sisco did the switch away from the stable linux firmware, and cut the ram in 1/2 to prevent users from installing linux firmware. And retained the old Model name. I have had poor luck with the non-linux routers. I did find the wireless range to be very good. If you have problems with it exchange it for the GL version for slightly more money. The last GS v7 that I setup was not very good either with more that 3 users, constantly locked up.
It seams everyone remembers and still has the old models (v1-4) which are rock solid work horses. There have been a few users here on the forum that has good luck with the wrt54g. Maybe sisco has finally got the bugs out of the firmware.
Nizzy, I agree that the Linksys WRT54G (v1-4) were the best router ever made. But the later down graded ones are not, just an avg, residential router. -
thanks alot guys for you help
