Ugh.My wireless signal keeps on dropping even though I'm on a wireless-G network and only 30 feet away from the router. It works at times and is usually on 3 or 4 bars out of 5, but randomly, it would drop to zero bars all of a sudden. The only (temporary) fix for this was to unplug the adapter and plug it in again. This is all on a desktop with a Dell TrueMobile 1450 USB Adapter. I'm using Linux Mint and haven't installed any specific drivers.
What's the cause and how can I fix this?![]()
Thanks,
Leon

Interference can call this, try a different channel. It's best to survey the area and see what is being used. If XP use Netstumbler for the scan.

Oops ...Not quite awake this morning. Use your built-in scanner tool to see if anyone else is near you. It should give you a channel and strength indication.
