Go for it my friend!
-
Ok I just had this same problem after my computer automatically updated the other day and I'm not under warranty anymore, so am I just screwed?
-
Nope, just follow the 1,000,000 steps from the NBR members
-
So where do I start?
-
Ahhhh?????? just follow the other thread you open.
-
Ok so if I download the driver from the link you sent me everything should be ok? But then another problem arises, I'm an idiot and have no idea which driver to d/l.
-
Oh, well, go first to your wireless adaapter window and do a driver update first, and if that doesn' work then go to the link and look at the section for your laptop model, is it IFL90? Then look for the wireless minicard driver, voila.
-
Sorry body, I misread your laptop brand, I thought you said Compal, you have a Compaq, so I suggest you go to the HP and Compaq forum, there people with the same platform will help you better.

Ah ok thank you very much.
-
Let me know if you get things done there, otherwise we will still try to help you here if is a wireless issue.
-
Guess what?
They replaced my entire motherboard for Free.
haha.
gonna go to HP center to collect it.... -
Great, does means that not even them were able to solve the issue, so they decided to change the mobo. But what about the wireless broadcom card? Aren't they going to change it?
-
They just Replaced the Motherboard because the Wireless card was having I/O issues with it.
Ya its the same Broadcom chip...i think i was overusing and downloading 3-7 GB per nite and hence the Chip died? not sure.
But working fine for now...and ALL my data is safe.
Thanks to HP's great service.
Actually its an Integrated chip therefore they cant change it. -
Yes, I know is a chipset, I was thinking of the wireless card though.
-
Nop they cant change it as its OEM for that model.
but guess what? I am selling off this laptop when the prices for 8600M GT based laptops come down .
Most likely i ll try Intel this time. -
Great, I'm personally waiting for the a dual core (AMD or Intel) over 3GHz.
