    Hi all,

I've decided on a Motion 1600 TabletPC. I've already bought a D-Link Model 7200 high speed AG Access point which will be connected to a WatchGuard X3 Router.

The 1600 can be purchased with either the standard Intel 2200BG, or an optional Atheros Super AG. Which would you recommend? I've heard of problems with the Intel, both the 2200BG and the newer 2915 ABG. However:

I must say one thing: We need 2 Tablets at the office, and I just bought a Fujitsu 4020D tablet. It has the new atheros super ag. Darn thing would not connect to my D-Link 614+ router. So..tech says, do a firmware upgrade on the D-Link. I did. At which point the router would not connect even on ethernet. D-Link tech help could not correct it so I trashed the thing. What a waste. And it was working fine before. So I'm just a little wary of Atheros now....!! Jeepers creepers. Looks like you have to just be plain lucky to have the right computer and wireless router to happen to like each other!! The Fujitsu had a Bios problem with the screen size so its gone back to the factory for a re-install of Bios. When it comes back I guess I'll make a tour of local Starbucks etc and see if it will connect easily!!

The Atheros card is superior and it supports Super G, if you have a compatible router. As to your past problems, I think D-Link is one of the worst brands out there, but a lot of it is personal preference. Never had any problems with Netgear. Also, we have a tablet site if you need more specific help or care to lend a hand. See the tabs at the top of this site.
