I don't know about Buffalo, they look like fancy gems. But when I was in UK during my studies, we play lot of Counter strike I used sitecom gaming router old version believe me the ping was great and superb range. They are value for money same as TP-link.

Any reason to pay double for N66U (130) over WDR4300 (60)? Does the improvement in speed/quality justify the price difference? I also have an option to buy a little older D-Link DIR-825 (N600) from a friend with 20-30, what would you guys suggest? The router is to replace my old Buffalo WHR-G125. New router should be able to stream Super HD (Netflix 25Mbps) via WLAN and I need the gigabit ethernet for my NAS. In worst case scenario there might be 10 devices connected simultaneously (PC, laptops, phones, AV receiver, TV, PS 3 etc.), you think every router I listed could deal with the load?
Saw a lot of complaints on the WDR4300 in newegg on dropping connection, I'm a bit worried about that.
Edit: My flat is not that big and the router will be in center of it. So the range doesn't have to be that good. -
Stay away from D-Link. You don't even know what it really is - there were 4 major revisions based on SoCs from Atheros, Realtek and Ubicom with anything from 16MB RAM to 128MB. Also D-Link's firmware support us crap.
Asus N66U is a very good router indeed but not worth $130. For $100 you could buy a TP-LINK Archer C7 v2 which offers 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
TP-Link WDR4300 is a router with good hardware and is reasonably priced. It might be a good choice indeed - if anything doesn't work there's always 3rd party firmware support although TP-Link are good at this themselves. -
I have 2 devices which support ac wifi and the rest is n. I guess I could go for that Archer C7. Its fully compatible with n wifi right?

Yes it is. Just buy V2 - it uses a different radio than V1 (as in far better one)
