Ok, this is VERY annoying. I have a Dell Latitude D510 with a Dell 1370 WLAN Card.
Im trying to connect to my network. I belive its a problem with the Dell Wireless Utility. It wont connect, and i dont really see an opt. to connect...
Screenies attached for all of the windows. I want to just use the default Windows Wireless softwear, but the Dell utility is included in the WLAN drivers and i cant disable it to use win.

You can disable the software and use Windows version of the wireless tools. Also make sure the password is correct, and/or correct encryption for your router maybe?
-
Just because the Dell utility was included w/ the WLAN drivers doesn't mean you can't disable it; or prevent it from being the primary utility for managing the Wireless Adapter.
Try this...Go to Start--> Run and type services.msc and hit enter. Look for the Dell Wireless WLAN Utility service and stop and disable it. Scroll to the Wireless Zero Configuration service, set it to Automatic and Start it.
Now do a Start--> Run and type ncpa.cpl and hit enter; right click on the Wireless Adapter and select Properties. Ensure both checks are selected at the bottom of that window; then scroll in the list in the middle and select Internet Protocol and then press the Properties button. Ensure "Obtain IP Automatically...." is selected for both options. Click ok and then ok; look at the bottom right-hand corner of the desktop by the task tray, click on the network icon and View Available Wireless connections, double click your network, enter the passkey and try to connect.
Edit: Along w/ disabling the Dell Software from the Services list, you could/should also take out that check mark in your first print screen that says "Let this tool manage your wireless networks" and hit apply and ok. -
I did everything you said makaveli72.
Now, it does connect - and says Excellect strenth, 54mbs, everything.
But it says invalid IP and the ip is 0.0.0.0
it wont connect to internet and wont rpair.what now?
the key is correct and i also tried connecting to a unsecured network, still no go. -
should 1394 connection be enabled or disabled?
-
Start--> Run and type cmd and hit enter. Then type ipconfig /release and hit enter. Then ipconfig /renew and hit enter.
Also try restarting the computer.
1394 (enabled/disabled) shouldn't interfere w/ the Wireless Adapter.
Edit: And is DHCP set up on the Router? The Router is connected to a DSL/Modem right? -
I will do this when i can get access to the computer. Thank you.
Tried restarting, the router is conected to a cable modem. Not sure about dchp. It works fine on my other 3 computers connected to the router... -
Are the other three connected wirelessly or directly to the Router? If it still doesn't work after doing the above, go on a computer that works and do an ipconfig /all and post the results here.
-
set dhcp and set obtain an ip address automatically on your wireless card.
-
Tried, still doesnt work! - it says error occured while renewing interface of wireless conn. 4 system cant find file specified.
-
When did this problem start? Have you downloaded the latest drivers from Dell? Do you have SP3 installed?
-
-
I have the latest drivers, but SP1. And i cant dwnld SP3 w/o IE...
Well, i got the laptop from a co-worker and its been like that since. i did a factory restore too. -
You can download the stand alone SP3 here, no IE required:

Make sure you've installed all of the Dell drivers, especially the notebook system software and chipset drivers. After that, download and install SP3.
Wireless wont work on Dell.
