if you are going through a router, the router is think that the password is wrong. as for high speed internet on the modem should it not be converted to a LAN signal. then there would be not any software required.

how to fix this problem i have no idea maybe call telus, i have heard some good things about there support...

yuio, i think he knows (or its already done) how to configure a router, else he couldnt ask, assuming hes writing from his "old desktop pc"

So, i dont know what telus is, i guess an internet provider...

What software are you talking about btw? Be more specific!

And i only know laptops, no labtops, now you confused me :p

Are you sure you need that software..? Normally you just put in your accountname and passwort in the dsl-modem and thats it. Maybe turn on the DHCP Server in order to get Ip's automatically from the DSL-Modem.

    i suggest you read this:
    http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Maybe you should just call the support...
