my work dell laptop used to use the external 190 dell air card to go online via verizon. I was able to plug the card into my personal HP notebook and use it when I'm off work after downloading VERIZON ACCESS MANAGER. But now my company switch to using dell 5620 and it appears to be built in. So what do I need to do now to get it to work on my personal HP. I'm not sure how to install the 5620 card or anyway around that

Are you trying to install the Dell card into your HP? Does your previous card not work anymore? I think you are going to find it tough to install that card into your HP.

yes, and the old external USB 190 was disable

I think you are going to have to request another USB model. I don't see anyway that it is going to work in your laptop.

what is the equivalent version that will work on HP notebook, cuz I tried to look online but didn't find a 5620 USB card. Do you know the exact name(s) of the piece(s). thx

Are you paying for it or is work paying for it. If it is you then simply go online to Verizon Wireless and follow the links and give the info they request. You will see which devices work for your area. If it is work than let them handle it. It is better to have an exterior usb modem or express card over an internal. I use a portable EVDO router with it when on the road. This allows for a better user experience. I would also go to the 3g store and the EVDO forums for more info.

The 5620 is an internal card - the middle one in this picture:
You need a notebook that has the proper internal antennas and cables to hook up to the card - if your HP doesn't have those, you won't get a signal. There's another issue for people who want to use the 5620 with GSM carriers (AT&T, T*Mobile in the US) - if the notebook wasn't built with a SIM slot, there's no provision for a SIM on the 5620 card itself.
Another issue you might run into is that HP notebooks used to (I don't know if they still do) blacklist non-HP wireless cards.
