2 comps on wired router.
comp 1 is downloading at 600k/s on a 5mb broadband connection.
comp 2 cannot even websurf that well or go on any chatting program.
problem due to crappy router or massive bandwidth use by comp 1?

Can computer 2 browse with computer 1 disconnected? If not, what about if computer 2 is wired straight into the modem? Also, what kind of router are you running?
-

Run Cablenut on pc2, to optimize the connection.

Is the first computer download and uploading heavily? I know that when I'm uploading anything, everyone in my family suffers.

Could your ISP be throttling your bandwidth due to heavy downloading?
