i want to replace the wifi adapter on my notebook (with amd cpu and chipset) with an intel centrino n 6230
will the 6000 series work on my notebook?
-
I think so, but i have never actually tried so i can't confirm for sure. I don't see why not though, i also don't have access to an AMD notebook which is a shame because i could test it if i had access to one.
Note that some manufacturers implement a bios whitelist for wireless adapters which might prevent the upgrade. Which notebook are we talking about? -
it's a samsung np305u1a
i've read about people that replaced the original (crappy) broadcom adapter with others adapters
thanks for the reply!
i'm still waiting for a sure answer about this! -
Yeah, I am 99% sure that Intel WiFi cards are compatible with AMD notebooks.
Then again, it is Intel....... =/ -
It will work but it may get some random problem.
-
which kind of random problems?
-
well
K53ta : cannot do a clean restart( windows is down), shut down/boot normally though , no further tested
dv6z : random BSOD due to wifi driver, I try to trace the source but never able to find it, tweak all the option such as wake, power saving etc.
But they do go online and have good signal. -
i've read about people that have installed this wifi on this notebook...and it works fine
thanks to all for the help!
