Is there a software that can track internet usage/quota. I have bell's internet and every month i have to pay over charge while their quota meter is always 3 days behind and does not work most of the time. tired of paying 30 dollars extra. my old solution was to download to my hearts desire. (60GB cap and i do 200GB+ a month). but since I ran out of space and stuff to download, I dont want to pay the over charge anymore. (I am still over quota even I didnt download much recently)

I have a 5GB cap. You're just silly. Try keeping track of 5GB a mo.

this may work -
Ah, can imaging you can live with 5GB cap, with all the movies and TV show I watch online and download. keeping below 60Gb is quite hard already. Guess its a habit i picked up when my internet used to be unlimited

thanks Ill try it out

You can always switch to TekSavvy
Buy a router with MLPPP, and you can bypass their throttling over certain hours(if I recall, from 4pm to 4am, speeds are throttled to 50kb/sec). $29/month for 500gb or $39/month for unlimited DSL is pretty decent considering they resell Bell DSL

Netflow
Will show you bandwidth usage by source and destination IP address amoung much much more
I did this with a basic Cisco 851w although there are more and less expensive ways to do this. I believe rflow is the open source equivalent and is available on some third party router firmwares.
