Hi guys
I was wondering if there is minimum connection speed in order to have wireless?
1mbps?
2mbps?......
I know although a low speed will be slow but I want to know is will it connect properly?
thanks. it's just i have a friend who wants to try wireless but not sure whether he can.

if it's a Belkin, then you need a flux capacitor for internet connectivity

Where do they sell these items?

You'll have to experiment to discover the range of your router and your adapters. If you can still load webpages and share files, you're definitely connected.

Min connection speeds can be real low if there is no noise to cause problems. Some cards are better than others, it all depends on there SNR sensitivity. As a test try rotating the laptop around, even moving as little as 6" can make a difference. You said the magic word Belkin, I have yet to find one any good that lasted more than a month. I no longer will install one, just not worth my time.

Great, I was thinking of buying this. It's gotten some good reviews.

Belkin has gotten some great reviews. But every one I have ever gotten my hand one were bad. Don't know if it was hardware or firmware problems but they would all lock up requiring a reboot constantly, and at times you would be forced to reset them back to factory. And at times that did not give you access. After being off for several hours you could connect and set it back up. Not something I wanted to be doing constantly. I personally did not buy them they were friends and clients I supported. Replaced them with a Linksys, dlink, netgear, usr and never had to go back.
Which makes me wonder if they were hand picking and tested them before sending them in for reviews. -
Hey blue I understand that you've had bad experiences with belkin, but I've had one for almost 3yrs(now used as an access point) and I have not had one problem what's so ever. Several friends have stated the same thing with belkin routers, their n router was one of the poorest preforming though, but as far as functioning I just haven't seen or heard of this.

If you meant slowest internet connection that can be shared through a router, even dial-up can be used. In that context, any internet connection that is properly configured can be put through a router.
