More information needed: WiFi or wired connection?
Have you tried updating network drivers?
What network gear do you use: router and net card?
Have you checked Windows log or router log for any clues on what happens? -
network card
yes i checked, the error log said that there is problems with network wires, but they are ok.
didnt tried the updates, dont think that it will help -
What the second poster meant was router or modem. All devices are connected via some kind of network card. Please clarify your information.

Is this a built in network card or usb or ...?
Cables may look fine, but are not. The cable can break internally, or come apart at the connector. Could be something wrong in the connector, or something flooding your network even. -
If a restart restores connectivity, it's unlikely to be the wires...
I assume you've tried reenabling the network adapter?
I assume it is either plugged into a router or straight into the Cable/DSL modem? -
What OS are you running? (windows, mac, etc.) -
my os is windows vista (home premium), there is no modems or something like that, only 1 cable which is connected straight to laptop (not usb). Repair didnt help at all
-
And the cable goes where? What's on the other end of it?
It's gonna be a year and a half till we know sth at this rate.
By there is "no modems or something like that" you mean no DSL modem, no router, no cable modem- just an Ethernet cable sticking out of the wall? -
i have no idea where the cable goes. its, as you say, Ethernet cable sticking out of the wall
-
OK, if that's the case you can do only two things on your own- update network driver and check if the cable is OK.
I assume it's your home connection- does any of your neighbours have the same problem? If changing Eth cable and updating driver doesn't help it's most likely the problem is on ISP's side.
When this problem occurs and you have limited connectivity again, go to Network Center (or whatever it's called in Vista) click on "display status" and then "details".
You should see a window with your IP, subnet, default gateway, DHCP and DNS servers. Any one of those missing?
You should definitely update your network driver- it doesn't matter if you "don't think it will help"- you loose your network connection when you put your network adapter under stress but it works again after system restart.
That is the easiest way to test one of the variables. You can always roll back driver and get back to old one if you choose to do so for some reason.
If neither driver update or new Ethernet cable works, contact your ISP or whoever you get your internet connection from. -
the problem has gone for few days, but now it returned again
How can i update internet drivers?

What IP address are you getting? It will indicate if it's home net or larger system. Just post the results of ipconfig /all from the cmd window. Do this when it's working and when it stops. Once stopped try the ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew.
If you have another net cable try it. I have seen to many cable work intermittenly. A bad jack on the pc can cause the same problem. -
this is when working:
when stopped:
network problem
