Hi, I have 2 computers that's connected to the router right now, but I can't connect my laptop to it
my laptop has Intel WiFilink 5100agn and my router is wireless B, I think they're all supposed to be compatible
any help? thanks
-
The wireless card in the laptop does not support b, otherwise it will state Intel abgn.
someone correct me if I am wrong. -
ok that makes sense...but why did they skip b
would it work if I could find a ethernet cord and connect my router to my laptop? -
Yes, I don't think you should have a problem if it is connected directly by Ethernet cable
.

thanks for your help guys, now I have to go find the stupid cord

What OS are u running? You will need to get into Device Manager and set ur WiFi adapter card to "Mixed mode" or "B mode" if it has that option. -
The 5100 is compatible with b as well.

Make sure your wireless switch is on, that the Fn + F2 is on too. Finally make sure you have downloaded the drivers.
What are you using to manage the network, Windows or Intel PROS? -
Right now, my desktop is connected wirelessly and my laptop is connected to the router with ethernet cord
Uhh, I have no clue, I think Windows manage my network
BTW I have vista on dv5 laptop, XP on desktop
new laptop can't connect to router
