I'm wanting to know if my Intel Draft 2.0 card in my Acer 5920G would be able to take advantage of that feature or not?
I'm trying to decide between the D-Link DIR-655 or the DIR-825.![]()

Is that the only wireless device being connected to the router? If it is, then you don't need dual band. If you have slower/older devices (such as G) then you will be limited by those speeds.

I was trying to remember what dual band meant...and what you just said reminded me of what it was. G and N devices connecting simultaneously and not dropping your N speeds to G. I had the daft thought that it was up one band and down the other.

I just made this mistake...bought a DIR 655 D-Link router thinking it was Dual Band...and although its screamingly fast for my 2 N laptops, my 3rd older G laptop forces it to default to 54Mbps...so now after one day of ownership...I'm forced to sell
question about dual band N routers.
