Im not sure if you can even do this or not since im not that great into this part of the computer world. My dad's company is set up on a network. We need to get a certain program so he can do stuff on hear on the weekends or maybe the upcoming new shop. Theres a software thats loaded on there with many other but mainly FabTrol. Which he said was 35k for the network if i heard correctly and i cant find it anywhere or any sign of a keygen....which of coarse i wouldn't of used.
But can the windows XP "remote access" will that allow us to obtain the network thats at the office along with the programs on the network computer? thanks

if it's on a company network, he needs to talk to to his IT dept on setting it up. tunnelling in is (1) probably/hopefully/likely disabled unless his IT dept is very stupid and (2) a security risk (see 1)

Well, if the office network is based on Windows Server 2000 or 2003, you can use RDP or Terminal Services (generally the same). It will allow you to remote into the network and access the computer like if you were in front of it. It should allow you to access all the apps and network resources as well. By default, Terminal Services is disabled for pretty much all user accounts. The IT dept would have to modify the User Profiles to include access to terminal services.
Standard setup of Terminal Services in Admin mode allows for upto 2 simultaneous connections. In Application mode, you have temp licenses that last 90-120 days, after that, you need to purchase permanent licenses (CAL Packs), but the company would purchase those.
