Ok, I hope I'm posting this in the right spot but I've recently got a Panasonic CF-C1 win7 pro 64bit. It had built in Bluetooth and when hooking upto my Nexiq USB link on J-1939 it won't lock/communicate on J-1708 it'sjust fine no issues faster than it used to be on my CF-30 which also had built in Bluetooth.... Only main difference between the two besides diff models is one ran win7 pro 32bit and the new one(C1) runs win7 pro 64bit.(processors are diff.. etc etc...)..but before buying an aftermarket Bluetooth set up I was just wondering if anyone had some input.....it hooks to everything else great...just that one issue which is a big one for me as about 80% of what I do every day is communicated on J-1939![]()
EDIT: it was using Toshiba Bluetooth stack and according to Nexiq they said Windows generic Is better....tried and now in worse shape....any ideas?
-
Wait...I'm confused. Your Pro-Link communicates fine on the the 5-pin but does not on the 9-pin?
Have you tried it straight off the USB? See if the ECM responds over USB. -
Just using the usb link(haven't seen a pro link in some time)... But yes on 6 pin (also9 pin that are1708 also) it communicates fine but on 1939 (9pin) every third or so data using the Nexiq device tester says ERR_RX QEUE_FULL. Nexiq said sounds like a communication error but then it should happen on both data links... A guy I deal with at naviatar said he would lend a hand as he hasn't heard of this...and yes wired it communicates as it should
Cummins insite...servicemaxx... DLB....Eaton service ranger...wabco ...and bendix won't work on 1939 but on1708 they will
Also isolated to laptop as I have tried multiple Nexiq's and adapters and a couple dozen trucks -
I learned on a Nexiq GraphIQ. But its been years since I used it. If the scanner says ERR_RX QEUE_FULL, that indicated the scanner's receiving memory cache is full (RX QUEUE FULL). But if it's isolated to the laptop, then it could be the software. What program are you using with it? ServiceMAXX?
-
I work for a International trucks dealership....im running everything and anything to be honest, eaton, cat, cummins, Detroit, servicemaxx, old school DLC, DLB, bendix, wabco, meritor trans,
but heres something stranger...I bought this laptop knowing the built in webcam was inop....it was disabled in BIOS, I had enabled it to see if it would work....for giggles I redisabled it and now its communicating (for the most part) on 1939 now...
EDIT: I take it back...not working for everything....
EDIT..AGAIN....Microsoft generic drivers....it won't even communicate..... -
You shouldn't use Microsoft's generic drivers for the Bluetooth radio. The Bluetooth enumerator, yes. But the actual bluetooth card should be using the OEM drivers specific to that bluetooth radio.
-
only thing Panasonic has is the Toshiba Bluetooth stack.....
-
Ouch. In this case, it's the choice between the lesser of two evils. But you said you switched to the Microsoft drivers and it had even more problems?
You may end up having to get a small USB bluetooth dongle then. If you do, make certain its one that uses the Broadcom/WIDCOMM bluetooth stack. Good news is a USB bluetooth dongle will be very small and very inexpensive. -
One thing I was looking at....it's an Intel Wi-Fi Bluetooth board in it...wondering If that maybe an issue or something going on with that...maybe try a newer one or a different one.. but I've seen stubs Bluetooth usb that in curious on but can't find any reviews on the 100 meter ones only the10 meter ones and they claim to be broadcom... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301250556595&alt=web
The card in it is an Intel centrino 6205 card....Is there a better option out there? -
I wonder if this would work? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=251109016335&alt=web
-
Not sure. Some OEM BIOS will only allow a certain wifi/bluetooth card to be installed. You should check that first. If there is no restrictions of what wireless card you can install, then you should also consider a Killer Wireless card.
-
If I could change the Wi-Fi card to something with class 1 in it like that broad com....that would be awesome...wonder the best way of finding out...yay more research lol
-
Yeah, Intel Wifi+Bluetooth cards are still glitchy when it comes to interoperability between the wifi and bluetooth.
-
That's what I've been reading it would be nice to find one less glitchy and with class 1 Bluetooth...quick glance last night send people have swapped some cards with no issues....
I've got a Cf-30 lower in the garage abd the Bluetooth in them is separate from the Wi-Fi card...makes sense why it was better now lol -
Tis true. Its the reason why I don't want to give up my old Alienware M17x. Wifi is separate from Bluetooth.
-
I agree...but going from the Cf-30 to the Cf-c1 had speeded up some things I do at work...just the Bluetooth issue is killing me....last week's gain proved it lol
-
I would recommend trying a cheap USB bluetooth that runs the broadcom bluetooth stack before going and replacing your half-mini card.
-
well I got a intel 6235 card...lets just say that didn't work....loads the card fine but the antenna connectors are different....o well live and learn right??? I guess im left with the USB or try another card but I don't feel like spending another few on another card lol....
-
heres a lil update....tried another C1...same thing...
-
You tried the Nexiq with another laptop and it had the same issues?
Hmm, was the C1 able to use the scanner via Bluetooth before with no problems? -
Nope these are the first two Cf-c1's I've had....all the other Cf's never had any issues
-
So it's an issue specifically with the CF1? Both CF1's have the same wifi/bluetooth card?
-
Same both...it's strange...it does have a separate board for Bluetooth....Ijust need to find a usb one.....who thought something so simple world be so difficult lol
-
Guaranteed it's the Nexiq that's the troublemaker.
Best bet is to search Newegg for a USB Bluetooth adapter (a cheap one) that you can verify uses the broadcom bluetooth stack. -
Gave up, helped a guy set up his Cf-52 had the Toshiba stack...deleted it used Windows andperfect...tried mine again...nope lol...picked up a $5 eBay Bluetooth class1... Just showed up today...will try it in the morning
-
now first try with this Bluetooth get error 0x80004005...is there a way of finding what chipset is in it?
EDIT: tried a different usb port and it worked..... -
It worked with a cheap USB Bluetooth on the Windows stack?
Interesting. Maybe just an incompatibility with the Toshiba stack then?
And error 0x80004005 points to an insufficient privileges error (need to login as ADMIN) -
its working-ish right now, after hook up and disconnect it sometimes has issues reconnecting..... the number off the circuit board is kns3620b3 which appears to come to a Broadcom with a google search
-
Have you tried the Broadcom Bluetooth stack on the USB adapter?
-
I was trying to find it today but was to busy with trucks, conference calls and co works.... Gotta love month end and things people can't figure out ..
-
tried Broadcom driver updater...no luck...
-
No luck like it wouldn't update, or no luck like your still getting no connection over bluetooth?
-
No luck didn't find the adapter...but it hooks up once but after that won't reconnect with out a reboot....getting discouraged....
-
Now the seller claims to use Download Generic Bluetooth Radio 5.1.2600.2180......
-
Try it. See if it helps or hurts. At this point, can't be any worse.
-
This past week....it might blow my computer up...I'm hoping this week's better...
-
Just an update... The iogear class 1 works great
strange Bluetooth issues
