what is the best wireless card?

I am currently in the process of buying an Asus Z71V, have researched to death, aware of all the issues.

However, the one feature that I don't need hassle on is the Wireless Internet connection on campus.

So I put it to you guys, what is the best wireless card available today that I can internally put in the Asus Z71V

Will the 6600 go that comes with this Z71V be fine to run AOE3 and NWN2?

 

I like the Atheros options much more than Intel. I say go with anything but the INtel 2200/2915.

I'm more of an Intel guy but Atheros is a great card and will suit you will. The 6600 should do pretty good with most games, I haven't heard to many complaints about it.

I personally have the Intel 2200GB in my nx8220 and I have no problems using it with my SMC Wireless B router. Never had any issues with it. I've read the posts where people said that the 2200/2195 is causing problems, but I haven't encountered any to this day. I've also used the Intel 2100 in my old notebook without any problems. If you do get the Intel card, make sure you use the drivers on the Intel site, not from the notebook manufacturer. The drivers on the Intel site gets updated a lot faster and seem to be more stable.

Definitely use Intels drivers, always a good idea to get it from the source.

 

The best? THE BEST?! You can't handle the best!! *ahem* Well, actually, you probably can't, as that would be the Demarc SuperRange2 which is so powerful, it has a disclaimer. However, next on the list would be the Senao NL-2511MP. It's very important when buying a performance wireless card (and we all know that performance in wireless terms is RANGE, because you don't need more throughput on the wireless link than you have from your ISP) to find out what kind of power output that model uses. Most cards are 100mW or less, which is utterly weaksauce. Of course when you're dealing with internal miniPCI cards, you also have to make sure you're getting a card with the right antenna jack for your laptop. Good luck with that, considering that even old pros can get the dozens of connector standards for antennas confused. Hell, even the damn manufacturers sometimes call something RP when it isn't or vice versa.
