    where to buy atheros wireless mini pci card?

    i want to buy the best wireless mini pci card for my barebone laptop. (a turion based lappy)
    i was going to get the net intel 3945, but i hear that the Atheros is better.
    what's the best card, and where can I buy it.

    The 'best' card is all relative but there are no complaints with this card discused in the Buy and Sell form - and yes I am an owner :D

    If that buy is closed try Ebay

    The ebay group deal is a great thing. I would really consider getting your Atheros from there.

    Yes, the Atheros are a lot better than Intel

    what's the model of the best Atheros card. (is it AR5006 XS) ??
    i also suppose i can get a newer 802.11n and upgrade ! how easy!
    also, can't you buy them from a shop (i'd rather that than ebay, but i guess if i have to)

    You can't really be asking for the BEST atheros card, rather the one with the most functionality.

    I say this because you don't want features you're not going to use and have to pay for them just because with them you have the BEST one.

    Get the one in the group buy deal in the buy and sell section like nickspohn said, I have one and it's freakin' faaaaaaaaantastic. :D

    Just don't be sad when you install it and your bootup splash screens are different and your windows logon is classic mode and not the pretty picture one. :)

    i got mine (Atheros AR5212A) from jarodsmarket at ebay for $25.37 s/h included and have installed it in my MSI MS-1022 notebook. so far i have no problems with it. although of course i am not able to maximize its 108mbps potential because my wi-fi network router at home has the Airgo chip (a Belkin Pre-N) which is different from the Atheros.
