Samsungs 830 SSD has hit a new record low on Amazon! It is $155 and than if you got Amazon credit card or the other credit card hat gives you 5% you can get it for 150 or below! Any speculations on how low this will go? It is a new record :)

I am putting my money this is the lowest it'll go for a while because they are trying to dump the 830s so they can clear out stock for their new SSD that has not come out yet. Its MSRP was i think 200-230 i forget. for the 256GB one. I read about it in an article on Notebookcheck.net several months ago. What are the prices to make these? This almost seems like selling them at manufacturing costs or below! Or do they some how actually get like 25% profit off of these? That would be impressive if a company really did :)

EDIT: updated with link lol my bad :)

I'd be surprised if their cost exceeded $100.

That's a fantastic price. I paid $200 for mine and I don't regret it - even after seeing this price. Its that awesome.

i bet thats what you tell yourself to help you spell better at night :p

JK that is very true. It comes down to when did you buy it and was it a good/fair price at the time. Also has it saved you a bunch of patients in that time period? Was all thta patients worth it for the 40-50 dollars extra? 99% of people will say yes. Only people that say no are super broke or bought it last week for like 30-50 bucks more and are now pissed :)

EDIT: update they are out of stock but still on sale and ships october 21

How do Samsung SSD's stack up against Intel? I trust Intel SSD's implicitly, but have trouble investing my money in Samsung or worse, OCZ SSD's.

    You are correct! :D

I don't know why I waited so long to get one. My only complaint is that my games' load times are so short I miss the "tips" on the load screens - oh wait, I never read those anyway.

why only 256gb ssd versions drop their prices? :( I would kill for a crucial m4 or samsung 830/840 512Gb SSD for 300$

I'm glad these things are finally getting in the "realistic" realm of purchasing. I've had my eye on one for quite awhile, but it's hard to justify a $300 upgrade for a laptop you only spent $350 for. :p The $100-$200 range feels better to me.
