You can get a new Dell Vosotro A90 (black mini 9) with ubuntu for $199. That includes:
4-cell battery
8.9" WSVGA (1024 x 600)
.3 megapixel webcam
Intel Atom N270
512 MB RAM
8GB SSD
Obsidian Black exterior
2.36 lbs
GMA 950
I think that that is a superb deal for a name brand machine with those specs.
On a more powerful note, you can get the Vosotro A860 for $419. The specs for this are much more peppy:
1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo T5470
15.6" WXGA (1366 x 768)
Bluetooth
2GB RAM
160 GB Hard drive @ 5400 rpm
DVD-RW
6-cell battery
GMA X3100
This bigger A860 sometimes doesn't show up on the Dell page. Just refresh and that should make it appear if it doesn't the first time![]()

This black color looks pretty cool
Besides the color, what else is different from the mini9?
-
it seems like better offer than mini 9 , this one comes 8 Gig as standard
Thanks -

thats a good deal it even comes with the web cam

Yeah, the A90 comes with an 8GB SSD and 512 MB RAM. The Mini 9 has 1GB RAM and a 4GB SSD. I'd prefer the bigger SSD, as 512MB should be fine for Ubuntu and can be easily upgraded. It's nice how it comes with a came too
I reckon it's the most affordable way to get a NEW computer with every component (screen, mouse, keyboard, and the whole computer part). -
wish i had this over my mini 9. i prefer the all black look over the black/silver.

The A90 is quite nice looking, especially for the price.
But I really wish that Dell would have an actual hard drive in these machines. If there was an actual HD, even 80gb, it would be enough for what I need.
But the 64gb SSD is too cost prohibitive. -
