It should be in stock soon. This is a Windows 8 laptop so maybe their inventory just hasn't been updated. If it sold out, then that means its at least wanted.

Looks like they're in stock as I can add one to my cart. Just some food for thought, if someone's considering a laptop with an E350, E450 or the new E2-1800, i'd say go for this. The price is very similar but the performance should be a lot better with the A6-4555M. The biggest advantage; dual channel ram (plus faster cpu/gpu).

The apu is a Trinity design. However, the apu is soldered to the motherboard so you can't easily remove and replace it like a socketed cpu.

The best ulv apu you can currently in have the s405 is the a8-4555m. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=694047

The 15.6" HP ENVY Sleekbook 6z and the 14.0" Samsung NP535U4C are available with an a10 but are more expensive too.

I just got mine for $429 at Staples. I will post some findings once I find my way around Windows 8 and install a few items. Is there any requests? Games? I plan on installing Minecraft, Towns. Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath.

The Ultimate AMD Trintiy Notebook List

HTWingNut has been giving us all that he can regarding the A8-4555M S405. I'm interested in seeing how well the A6-4455M (even with single channel RAM) handles Minecraft. Also, my friend and I run a server if you're interested in checking it out (the link is in my sig).

I picked one of these up a few days ago - so far no complaints, runs fine with everything I have tried on it. Will install some basic games like SWTOR this weekend and see how it handles them.
Very easy to upgrade, took a few minutes to remove the base and upgrade the ram. The HD is a standard 7mm HD and very easily replaced.
I took some pictures of the insides and will post if anyone needs them.

I haven't been able to do too much gaming with it yet. Been busy with my schoolwork. One thing I found was that I ended up doing a factory reset. Some issues I had. Things seem better this time around. Before I didn't have all the tiles on the Start screen (still getting used to that btw.) And things seemed a little more sluggish before the reset. Now things are pretty fast. I don't expect high gaming performance like my gamer laptop or such. But if it can play a few of my most played games well (Minecraft, Towns, Kane's Wrath, Sims 3.) I'll be very happy. (Unlike a lot of netbooks which are not very powerful. Though I've seen a few pretty decently spec'd ones)

As for playing on your Minecraft Server, I have my own as well! It's hosted on beastnode. (Been great for my close friends and I.) Though I may just look into yours, sometimes it is nice to get away from your own stuff. lol.

Anyhow, I will post my experience with my S405 as soon as I possibly can. Though what I bought it for it's been real nice!

Sadly I will be returning this laptop. I don't want to, but my main laptop needs a warranty repair and I don't have the money to send it away. (The cpu fan in it stopped working for some reason.) The lenovo is within Staples return policy. (14-days and in resell-able condition.) So I see no reason why they won't take a return. It'll take a few days for the refund since I used my bank card.

    My small bit of findings:

Minecraft ran at a playable 30-40 fps if I turned Render distance to normal. Everything else is maxed. I play full screen window mode.

Torchlight 1 & 2 Maxed everything out but v-sync, which I turned on with little or no impact on gameplay. (I didn't get actual fps on this, but it didn't play uncomfortably slow at all. (I can usually tell when it's below 30 fps)

Towns is a fairly simplistic game, it played absolutely fine.

Kane's Wrath- is my tester as I use the Nuke from the NOD as a test. (It has some partical effects and such that can slow a gpu down. I found that "Low" at native resolution will only give you playable rates when the nuke goes off. You can bump it to medium, if you plan on targeting and firing the nuke then move the main screen so it doesn't show the nuke exploding. That will keep the fps up fine. You may even be able to push to "High" if you do this also.

Sorry I can't help much more. The laptop has been a nice add-on to my tech collection (Which seems to be getting smaller as I run out of money.) But I'd rather have my gamer laptop over the lenovo. (Game laptop is the Samsung one in my sig just in case there was any confusion.) And since it is still under warranty, I would rather have them replace the fan and do any other fixes than me.

For the sale price, its a nice portable lappy. Its unfortunate Lenovo didn't put 2 sodimm slots as that would've unleashed every last ounce of performance from the 7500G in the games you mentioned. The addition of a SATAIII mSATA connector is great too but you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks again for the feedback!

    What's so special about it?
    Low-res display
    Short-Lasting Battery
4GB Ram (Although, I'm assuming this will be replaced by the buyer)
And slow HDD (As noted above, I'm assuming this will be replaced by the buyer)

Aside from being a durable laptop, the laptop AS IS is mediocre at best.

However, if you upgrade the laptop with 8GB ram and add in an SSD or 7200RPM hard drive, you're talking about a pretty decent laptop. All together though, your laptop will cost, approximately ,$600 with the upgrades. You can find better deals than that for a laptop similarly configured, not Lenovo branded though.

Nothing really. Its light, its cheap, it serves as a basic computer and its got a few flaws too. One could always look for a used or refurbed last gen laptop too.

Like davidricardo86 said, it is a really nice and thin laptop great for portability and at this price it is a steal.
The battery is short lasting in specs due to 4 cell but I think it may outlast other 6 cells if this processor is modified. This is the first time I see this processor.
There are quad core versions and dual core versions. I was comparing it to other $260 to $300's in its range around the market, and I will post the experience index of other similar machines (not similar spec but similarly priced) and then we can judge. If it can playback 1080p and will not choke on flash content or db connections, it is more than good enough. The screen was extremely bright even in mid-Gamma, so you will definitely have to adjust the gamma on this machine, which may also help with battery life.

I just ordered this and expect to receive next week.
