No workee. I configured a 6700t to a little over $1,400 and entered the code: "This code does not apply to the configured system..."

It worked last night when they had the dvx500x series on the site. Today, they all seem to be changed to a dvx700x series, the difference being an included extra 1GB of memory and an option for a 512mb 8600m GS card (the dv9700t anyway). Perhaps HP will make the price adjustment if you call by phone.

Worked for me this morning on a 6700t. I ended up with more options than I originally wanted but what the heck with the $500 off its a pretty good deal.

Just jumped back on here to tell you guys it's working again. Would have ended up being a "one-day" code. LOL.

Good to see that people are posting that it is.

Works on the HDX too. Now that's a more reasonable price when combined with the $500 price drop today.

Does anyone know if coupons are supposed to work with the Student Discount too? I tried the coupon, but it tells me it expired. Is their a limited configuration you're only allowed to get with the coupon?

I think the coupon expired due to the massive number of people who must have used it. The coupon worked for me when i ordered my dv2700tse laptop on the 20th. Or if you are lucky it just might work again later.

None of HP's coupon codes are working for me. I've tried 6 different config. on three different computers (one even without the instant rebate) and neither one of the codes works.

Gah...I was so hopeful I'd get great deal, too...oh well.

As far as HP coupons and deals go, how often do they offer new ones? Or are the good deals such as this latest one seasonal?

Just curious for future use, but HP doesn't carry any graphic cards higher than their 512mb 8600GS? I Imagine the 8600GT is better (from Dell) is why I ask.

You're right - HP does not carry anything higher than the 8600GS. I returned my HP and got a XPS 1530 with the 256MB 8600M GT DDR3 card.

I thought so - I suppose this isn't quite on topic but I figured it'd be best to ask here .. how do you know it is a DDR3 rather than DDR2 card? The notebook I was looking into had a 8600M GT (from Dell, Vostro 1500) but didn't state DDR2 or 3.

Is the XPS with a GT card going to get more than 2 extra fps for gaming over the HP?
