Yep. Seems like it doesn't work with any other screen option, though. Pity it doesn't work for the anti-glare panel.

This works with other resolution too. You just have to config up to $1399.99 to use coupon!
You can upgrade the CPU instead of screen if you want.

it works. it's a $450 dollar coupon, but only works if you get the full 1080p screen. final price (i tacked on a better processor and an external optical drive) came out to $1099, which is definitely a steal compared to its near $1600 original price tag.

    thanks mr pico!

and midnightsun, major props to you too ^^

If I don't upgrade the processor to i7 , can I do it later or it will conflict with the ATi Card?

I believe the quad core i7 processors use a different motherboard, so you cannot upgrade to them later from the i5 processors.

Omg. I just got a computer for the same price as my Sony CW.

OP you are my freaking hero! The $300 coupon had me on the fence but $450 OFF was a NO BRAINER!

How long did it take for an order confirmation to hit my email? It's been 10 minutes. Grrr!!!!!

Thanks for answering, probably shouldn't wait too long though looked at the coupon at logic buy and it said April 30th or until it runs out. So I might want to not wait till the last minute.

    Does it fit your needs??

    What I don't like is
    1) i7 upgrade is over-priced
    2) No higher end (IPS or RGB) LCD options
    3) 5830 can game but Clevo has a 15" system with a 5870
    4) No backlit keys
    5) Worst of all....chiclet keyboard.

    What I like:
    1) Affordable 15inch with 1920x1080 res screen
    2) Decent CPU + GPU for the price
    3) Portable
    4) Stylish

    Dislike:
    1) No optical drive
    2) No backlit keys
    3) No switchable graphics for better battery life. (Around 2 hours now)

Very tempting. So the new USB 3.0 port(s) is only available with models with the Core i7 quads? That's kinda lame, was going to get a Core i5 model to save $$

    1) I agree. An i5 is all most people need anyway.
    2) Ehh... the WLED is still pretty nice. What do you really expect at this price?
    3) The Clevo also weighs twice as much, and is twice as thick. The 5830 is a VERY capable chip. It'll run L4D2 at pretty high settings at 1920x1080, and it will run everything at max settings at 1280x720. And that's without overclocking the memory (most people can easily get a 25% boost in memory bandwidth on the Envy, going from 800MHz to 1GHz)
    4) Agreed. I wish I had one :(
    5) I actually love the keyboard... it's a dream to type on. Better than my T61 keyboard.

What do you want USB3 for? An external drive? You can get USB+eSATA enclosures that are self-powered (single cable) and will run as fast as SATA will go. It's what I use for an external drive, and it's quite fast. Other than that, that's about the only reason for USB3... most devices USB connected are not bandwidth limited except for storage.

there is no other laptop out there that gives this kind of performance for this price and weight, period. There are whole bunch of 17 and 15 inch laptops out there with similar or better configurations but they are not as cheap, well built and light.

Drake, whne I first got one of these in my hand, I had similar feeling like I first got the m17x. I assume you understand what I mean.

As much as I've researched and read about on the envy I would say that the card is pretty darn good. Not saying it's the most amazing card outu there but it'll run most games on medium high settings at the least(not counting crysis)
