SanDisk seems to be having a firesale of their SSDs

    Ultra II 480GB - $110
    Ultra II 960GB - $200
    Extreme Pro 240GB - $95
    Extreme Pro 480GB - $170
    Extreme Pro 960GB - $330

Other e-tailers have the same deals as well. Newegg, Adorama, B&H, Tigerdirect. Not sure when this will end, possibly tonight.

    so is the samsung 850

I picked up a crucial bx100 1 tb for 224 a while ago from jet which is mlc. it was up against this one for a similar price.

in all ways its better except from the controller in this one is a little smarter.

it uses mlc, it uses 16nm nand vs 40nm it has the lowest power consumption of any ssd ever tested.
and ssd health claims its going to live 24 years vs my samsung 850 will live 8 years.

it also is in the 80f and my samsung 850 is 109f

I dont necessarily have a point because im saying that even though tlc is worse it still is fast and lasts forever.

but if you can find the bx100 ( not the bx200 that is crap) or any of the older m600 line get those those are the best cheap ones.

the difference is in endurance. other than that, mlc is slower than tlc usually. my bx100 is slower than the ultra 2 or the 850

im not really a brandist but atm the cheapest crucial is a cut above the cheapest other stuff.

and my lite ons I have 2, are unsupported by most utilities and seem to be exhibiting signs of overheating and crashing
