The Fujitsu UK site currently has the Amilo Xa 1526 listed at £685 inc vat, that's nearly £150 cheaper than most online vendors.

    Spec:

    17" 1440*900 Crystalbrite display
    Turion X2 TL-50 1.6GHz/256k L2 per core (other models online have the X2 TL-56 1.8GHz)
    Geforce go 7600 256Mb dedicated
    1Gb ram
    120Gb Hard Disk
    DVD-RW/DL

Oh for £685! By contrast the Acer 9400 which is a similar price has a go 7300 128mb, similar stats and a low level C2D cpu. This is still amazing though, you can hardly get a 15.4" laptop with a go 7600 for this price!

I was very interested. I researched the model and hit Buy at ebuyer. I then found that they'd just decided to increase the price by 20%. Expletives!

Maybe if I'd been a minute quicker... Well, after that, I was no longer in a mood to buy anything. And, of course, ebuyer is no longer the place to buy this item.

We used to sell this notebook (also 1.6 GHz model) for around 969,- euro's. Very good price/performance notebook. We do not have it anymore unfortunately.

It's up at £850 now, I wonder why? Maybe it's a more powerful version they sell now. That £685 one was a tad stunted cpu wise for a machine like that.
