10% cash back from ebay...

Well it seems that there is no more discount...
it was 15% yesterday...
Do you think it will take to long to be back again?

Just search like he said, I just tried it and it worked. Still only 15%, but it's better than nothing.

 

Wii shows up too but not everytime. But if you re-do the search eventually it does come up and it's 15%.

 

Yeah, seems to be hit and miss this morning. If you try long enough it'll work.

 

Just need to hit the refresh a couple to maybe thirty times and it'll come up.

Man hope it comes back I was holding out to buy a DSLR for like $1000 and did not want to buy it until I had enough money. But would have been better to buy it with 25% and put in on a credit card than buy it later for only 8%

 

I have faith it will go back. I have been putting aside some money for an external hdd/case and was thinking about using cashback, once the xmas season is in full swing I bet it will go back to 20+%

 

I'm eagerly waiting for this deal to also come back. Been wanting to buy a DSLR camera for a while now, and was in the same situation as ViciousXUSMC.

F*** i just bought somthing then found out it was 8% when i went to pay for it.

 

Contact the seller to see if they are willing to cancel the transaction.

Look at the date it was posted it was posted a long time ago to aware people about this.

 

I'm curious if there are any consequences for the sellers because of this feature. Say I put an item for sale for $1000 and someone buys it from me using the cash back feature. So would I get the full $1000 that the buyer pays me even though the buyer would be getting cash back?

 

Yup you would still get your money. In 2 months Microsoft would send the cash discount amount to the buyer's paypal account. You as the seller would never know if they did utilize the live.com stuff or not.

I didn't think it was a good idea to buy laptops on ebay. What if they sell you lemons or refurbished stuff as new? I'd rather buy from a reliable source. I don't want to save money and it go to waste.

 

If buying a laptop off eBay I'd recommend buying from reputable dealer--one who has recent positive feed back selling laptops. If you do that your probably pretty safe. That and just remember if the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Scams are easy to spot once you learn the warning signs and common scam types. All in all though, I wouldn't recommend buying a laptop on eBay to most.

I just bought an item on eBay a few hours ago and it shows the typical "Pending" message (59 days left).

I believe Microsoft said it would make it instant for a select few, to be generous or something like that.

 

Getting instant cashback is a matter of luck, apparently he's luckier than you are.

 

my mistake lol ok lets rephrase. If you use Firefox, you have no 8%, but it'll be there if you use IE. Go microsoft

 

Eh, that's not true either. I'm getting 8% on FF.

I would suggest you clear cookies/cache or refresh multiple times if you can't get the banner to show up.

 

I had this same exact issue. It is due to Adblock, at least for me. The new version of adblock cuts out the "sponsored" ads, thus I could never get to utilize the links for ebay.

 

Ah you are correct sir. Turning off adblock for Firefox on search.live.com, the lowly 8% will show up.

The cashback is still going. I just purchased a laptop and several gift cards, and received instant cashback for all

yeah i have 2 more things i want to buy before christmas and 8% is not worth it. the seller jacked up prices so much because of the cashback i can but the items locally for the same price even after the 8% i just pay tax but no waiting.. even 20% would be fine for me... cmon 2 more items ive been watching before christmas

 

Yeah I found ebay to be a lot more expensive lately, even with the cash back. It's pretty ridiculous.

 

When people found out about cashback people raised here prices it killed it in a way which sucks.

 

There's still a lot of sellers that don't know about it. I've found quite a few nice deals. Since auctions are going for less, you can create another eBay username, bid and then ask the seller to put up a buy it now. Worst that will happen is you might get a negative.

 

man need 20-30% i just have 2 things to buy and i cant find them anywhere but ebay.. i spent way to much through this deal so after these 2 im done.. but man i wish they would bump it back up

well nothing works now except 8% opera cached links used to work but those are dead now.. what sucks is i have 3 transactions pending payment that say they will be paid within 7 days and they are all going on over 12 days now each one is over 150$...now im a bit worried and hope i dont loose these

 

I have the same exact issue and my total is more than $1K. So I am worried alittle bit more than you do.
