    The website shows 1249.

    Is 1099 in store price?

I'd say even $1249 is a good price for a laptop like that one.

Toshiba has better speakers, but its also much much thicker and its a 17" laptop. The asus has a more powerful gpu probably 20% faster. Its also 15.4" and much thinner.

Great deal.Yeah 15" vs. 17" makes a huge difference.I just sold my 6860 FX,I hated the bulk and weight..didn't even take it outside of my house.Too bad I don't game anymore or need such a powerful laptop.

It's the same resolution most 720p TVs use.

I'd say the asus is a better deal, ligher weight, more powerful both in terms of CPU and GPU (64 shaders vs 48) too bad you can get neither in canada for the price. thats the sad fate of a canadian

    Resolution isn't wierd, it's just the widescreen equivalent of 1024x768 = 1366x768.

However, for a 9800GS under it's hood, that is a really low res display. That card could easily drive 1920x1200. Decent potential if you're going to run an external monitor though :)

Just bought this thing a few days ago. I agree the res isn't the greatest. I went from 1680X1050 on my G1 so it is a downgrade. However, with this card and this screen I get awesome fps. Everything runs extremely smooth.

Or think about it this way, you can max out games for quit a while with a resolution that low. >.> either way its going to play any console ported game much much better than the original console.

It is a GS, but the Device manager calls it a GT. The best theory i have read so far is that the GS is a "NEW" card that appears in reality to be a lower clocked GT so it will not generate as much heat (so it will fit into the ASUS's thermal budget).

FYI - It has been confirmed that the 5400RPM hard drive is actually a 7200RPM
