I figured I should post this somewhere, but wasnt sure where. I remember there were alot of threads where people were looking for an A8 in a 14 inch laptop, and some had modded their A6 notebooks to an A8, but I recently found this customization page with the options all ready for configuring.

An A8 + Backlit keyboard is only $640. This is a pretty sweet option if anyone wants a decently portable and powerful notebook. CPU won't be amazing but good for moderate gaming (My friends A8-3510MX plays Skyrim on High). There are tons of threads on it on here (thanks to HTWingNut), so I'm sure everyone's already informed.

Just curious, but any idea what to expect for battery life?

Some reviews with the A6 said 4.5-5 hours on the standard battery.. For the A8, not really sure. Both have a TDP of 35 watts, so I would assume theyre about the same. There are three battery options available (two 6-cells, a 48 and 61 watt-hour, and one 12-cell 98wh). My guess is 5 on the 48wh, 6-6.5 on the 61wh, and maybe 9-9.5 on the 98wh? The 12-cell is most likely like a slice or jutts-out.

Nice specs but a little expensive if you add anything to it. Add A8 + extended 6 cell battery and it's like $670. Couldn't find any coupons either. But nice that has a backlit keyboard.

I remember some mentioned k43ta in k53ta thread, a 14" with a6 and 6650m. Just did a quick search, seems like non-existence in the western hemisphere.......

I find them in china taobao though huh.

    a4 is 3000-3500 rmb around 475-550 USD
    a6 is 3500-400 rmb 550-640 usd

Vect from dv6z thread got one in Europe? North america definitely non-existent though.?

I find 1 reliable ship global from Taiwan for 712 + shipping and maybe custom? May give m14x a run if import from china lol~~

Asia also have hp dv4 with 6750m

Yeah for whatever reason N.A. gets shafted, US mainly with some pretty good laptop releases. The Acer 3820TG and LG P330 are just a couple that come to mind. Everything is either 15" or 13" no middle ground 14".
