I just tried to get an Intel 120Gig G2 drive and it gives me an error,

Although you've entered a valid promo code BTEKHHJ26, your order does not currently meet the code's usage criteria.

Are you sure its for all SSD's or just C300 models?

Which drive did you try this on? I still get the error message I posted above on a 120G and a 160G drive.

Most are decent. Mainly the Kingston V-series (not V+) SNV425 are power hogs. Otherwise, most are decent. I can personally vouch for Intel in regular desktop use is phenomenal. However, keep in mind you will see most benefit from a netbook because it already sips power. A full sized notebook will benefit a lot less because obviously it consumes more power in general.

Benchmark Results: Power Consumption : Roundup: The Best SSDs For Enthusiasts

I don't think so, because it's still valid and I'm sure it would have been used by now.

Intel G2 120gb for $184 is warm, but nowhere near hot unless there's more discount that I don't know of.

Warm? Show me where I can buy any of these drives for 20% less. It doesn't happen much if at all. Especially Samsung and Intel.

So I just got off chatting with Newegg and this is only good for certain customers, so that is why some people get it and others do not.

    Oh well I guess.

Hmmm, I don't recall getting it but it works. Then again, I usually delete newegg sales emails if I don't see anything that stands out right away, but seems like I wouldn't have missed that one.

Sorry about the exclusivity here....i didn't realize it was an insider email.

In any event, i'm sure a few of you folks could *beg* someone (who's promo code does work) to pick up a discounted drive for you.

Alternatively, maybe you could try adding yourself to the newsletter/promo mailing list and try again?

Warm because it's been lower before. I got mine for about $160 shipped a few months back from newegg and got a 160gb G2 for $200(the seller sold multiple drives frequently at this price) from ebay.

In all honesty though, probably not. I like having the 500GB on my Dellienware and I've barely used more than 55GB on my Intel so far (which is more than fast enough for my uses anyhow).

Intel G3, though, might be when I buy.

I got the email for this yesterday.

I ordered the C300 today. 256 GB model to go in my Sager NP8150 when I get it... However NewEgg is changing their prices too much. Last night I was browsing the 240 - 256 GB SSDs and today I still had the window open. I forgot that window was there and opened a new window and pulled up the SSD list on NewEgg... Some of the prices are very different.

For example the C300 256GB was $504.99 last night... Today it is $524.99
However, what I ordered because of a different price change... was the C300 + Migration Kit (Even though I won't be using it) because last night it was $569.99, today it is $514.99

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense but maybe it relates to their current stock.

I can't wait to try this in the new laptop. I currently have an Intel X25-M G1 160GB in my Dell XPS 1645 which is a great drive but does have some short comings and most of all... I can use more space.

i think you need to be subscribed on their email list. i also got this email but too bad i dont have the extra cash to buy c300 256gb or the patriot inferno 240gb coz my 60 gb version is way too small.
