dont know why the guy is selling this cheap but have checked his feedback and emailed him about it, and there seems to be no joke :) just ordered!

the drive itself is no cheaper than $190, even on ebay. and it also includes an external case! what a deal!

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-250GB-USB-P...yZ116258QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem - 6 left as of now but his feedback shows he has had more than one auction, perhaps he will list again

I emailed the seller, and he said that it was, indeed, a WD2500BEVS with a USB2.0 enclosure!!

This was too much of a steal (30$ less than on newegg, after shipping, and FREE enclosure!) to pass up!

Considering I just sold a 120GB 2.5" external drive to a poor soul for $85 + S/H, this is an awesome deal. Too bad I don't need one.....

It arrived! Such a phenomenal deal! The enclosure looks really great and has a single USB connection...I swapped out my 160GB HD on my Asus for the 250GB one, and I am now using the 160GB one in the enclosure! The Seagate Momentus 160GB just needs one USB for data+power... :) :)

hmmm. I'm tempted, but how do you think this would be handled by WD should it fail at some point? I've never dealt with them to know if they require proof of purcahse etc.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I'd rather just buy it on newegg if there's no warranty for the drive.

I guess since you don't have a proof of purchase/serial number then yeah, no warranty...unless it's printed on the hard drive??

the serial is, not the proof of purchase, but i think if you talked to the right person, the serial is all you need - because they know when they first manufacturered it, within the past year, so even if they started from the first drive shipped, it would still have a few years left
