    if they can keep the 500gigs to around 200 it'd be good, but I'm willing to bet they'll be somewhat pricey as the latest and greatest. The 320 and 250 should be dirt cheap at that point, 100 and 80, respectively? Maybe thats just wishful thinking.

    500gb ones in march! :eek: This is the first I am hearing about this! I'm glad I haven't upgraded mine yet...I could triple boot and still hold all my media with one of them 500gb ones!

    google it, its the Samsung Spinpoint M6 500gb, coming out beginning of March, price is about $320, standard 9.5mm form factor, 5400rpm, id expect prices to be higher when it comes out though, you can see how there would be high demand for an item like that

    I posted here and then went searching for that monstrous 500GB thing... :)

    I found about the Samsung Spinpoint...

    But before Samsung has unvieled it's half-TB, it was Hitachi who have displayed their half-TB in the 2.5" segment..., and it is reported to cost around $400.... and is reported to be shipping in Feb 2008

    But I am getting a 320GB WD for $160 :)

    the Hitachi is a 12.5mm design, thus id does not fit 99% of laptops
