That's very nice savings!- A nearly loaded Regatta Blue E6500 that would originally cost over 2K, lands at $1,017! Not bad! Thanks Cin!

What's better, the Vostro or the Latitude series? Better build quality?

Latitude, While Vostro has some business notebook features like a magnesium alloy inner frame, and a mylar sealed keyboard, the latitude line takes these features and adds items such as more durable hinges, enhanced magnesium alloy construction (pretty much the entire bottom of the machine is made of it, not just the inner frame) a stronger lid to protect the LCD and other items. Judging from multiple sourced photos of the lowest end Vostros (the A series) the paint quality on the Latitude seems better as well.

What's better feature wise? I'd say latitude, just because you get more options like a backlit keyboard, pointing stick/touchpad combo, contactless smart card reader, and multiple color choices beside's cherry red like vostro.

I configured a E6500 with color (either Regatta Blue or Regal Red) and that comes with the nVidia GPU standard.

Dang, it expired. I know someone who would have jumped on that opportunity. I had a Vostro 1520 fully configured for exactly $1600 too! LOL.

Hmmm, google search shows it should be valid through 8/28.

i couldn't' find many reviews on the nvidia 160m vs the x4500 on-board. anyone with experience?

i got on this deal and got a pretty loaded e6500, mini 10, and a 24" 1080p monitor for around 1230. I'm looking to sell the mini 10 and my old xps m1330 with 3 year warranty left :).

i'm kind of new to posting/reading the nbr forums. do people post a lot of nice deals like this here?

I'm not too well versed on graphics cards (I don't game and battery life is more important to me as a college student :p) but it seem's like you've got a great deal there.

Oh and yeah, pretty good deals are in the deals forum all the time! :D

Keep an eye on your order status. I saw this deal posted on Slickdeals and most people have had their order canceled, or partially canceled. Good luck, it was an awesome deal!
