 50% off invisibleSHIELD - Protect your new notebook

Looks like a good investment... especially since you can get the 50% discount for a lifetime warranty on such a cool screen protector.

Though the site seems outdated for the latest notebook models, all of the 15.4" and 17" screen protectors should work fine on almost all models.

YES, they also have protectors for everything else as well (PDAs, iPods, Phones, PSPs, etc...).... screens and full casings :)

    [IMG] [IMG]

    Notebooks that are listed:
    - Clevo M570RU (under Mtech) ... also works for all other 17" notebook LCDs
    - Alienware M97xx (same 17" protector as above)
    - Apple MacBook (all sizes)
    - Compal HEL80 ..... also should work fine on all 15.4" notebook LCDs
    - Asus A8Js (14")
    - Asus G1s (15.4" protector)
    - Asus EEE PC (7" protector)
    - Lenovo Thinkpads (almost all sizes)
    ..etc... at the site.
    - all notebooks should work fine with the standard sizes (14", 15.4", 17")
-- so buy the screen protector of any notebook that has the same screen size as yours.

 General F.A.Q. (from the site)

    Q: What is the invisibleSHIELD?

A: The invisibleSHIELD is the toughest, most durable gadget scratch protection film available on planet Earth. The film has its origins in the U.S. military, where it was used to protect the leading edges of helicopter blades from wear and tear while traveling hundreds of miles per hour. Our proprietary film is a clear, urethane plastic (invisible, invincible) with unique properties that allow it to provide self-healing qualities and unparalleled abrasion resistance. The film's flexibility allows us to custom design the invisibleSHIELD to wrap around an entire device, including the screen, front, back, edges, corners and sides. The precision cut invisibleSHIELD is available for over 1,000 different devices, with more coming every day! Not only does it protect screens, but we have designed a Full-Body wrap for many of the most popular gadgets available on the market. If we don't already have it, we can custom cut one for you.

We have a utility patent-pending on the process of not only protecting screens, but wrapping the film around an electronic device. Not only did we originate this concept, but we are also the only company that offers the original invisibleSHIELD, the ultimate brand in protection. Other clear screen protectors are often disposable, hard, plastic pieces that scratch very easily and have problems adhering. Others may claim to have a similar product, but it is NOT the same thing.

Nothing compares to the quality of the invisibleSHIELD combined with our LIFETIME REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE! For more information, please contact our fantastic customer service team via phone or e-mail.
    -----------

Q: Just how strong is it?

A: The invisibleSHIELD is made from a film originally made to protect military helicopter blades. It was specifically designed to withstand the toughest abrasions. Click here to see for yourself how tough it is!
    -----------

    Q: Lifetime Warranty & 30 Day Money-Back Guarantee

A: The invisibleSHIELD is so tough, we guarantee it for the life of your electronic gadget. Unlike other screen protectors where you must purchase many protectors over time, the invisibleSHIELD is guaranteed to last! If it ever scratches or peels off, we will replace it, for FREE, for LIFE!

On top of the Lifetime Warranty, we also offer a 30 Day Money-Back Guarantee. If you are not convinced that the invisibleSHIELD is the best protector in 30 days, simply contact us for a full refund of the product.
    -----------

Q: Why screen protection? Is it really necessary?

A: No matter how careful you are, without protection, your screen will get scratched. It's just one of life's problems. All it takes is one piece of dust so small you can't even see it - it get's stuck between two moving surfaces - and your screen is scratched.

Ipod cases are no exception. Over time, iPods in cases become extremely scratched. With the newer video enabled MP3 players, you can't chance getting even ONE scratch. The only way to truly protect them is with the invisibleSHIELD, and the time to do it is the moment you take your new MP3 player out of its box.

Traditional screen protectors are weak, flimsy sheets of plastic that don't offer true protection. They were designed to simply add another layer between the screen and stylus of PDAs. They come in packs of 5, 10 or even 20, which means that they are disposable. This is what stores and manufacturers want they want you to buy their product over and over and over again.

Our take is a bit different. We want to offer you the best product possible, with the best warranties available, to gain your trust and loyalty, knowing that over time, you will purchase many different digital devices which will also need protection.

I got it for my Palm Treo a while back.

It has yet to get a scratch... being in my pocket with my keys and stuff. :)

Now since its cheaper, I am probably going to get it for my notebook.

Maybe I should have just posted this under Notebook Deals.... oh well.

If Chaz or Andrew wants to move it there, I'm cool with it. :)

... and maybe add it to front page... since this can benefit anyone with notebooks. ;)

Even if this invisibleSHIELD was that strong, I don't believe that the tiny metal frame in the video could support 1000lbs...

I saw a link with 50% off on SD's a while ago. But it does look like a good investment. I don't believe the video however.

yes the screen protector sizes for notebooks should be standardized:
    - 14"
    - 15.4"
    - 17"

Just a quick question for anyone who knows? Which model is the best to fit a Sager 9262... Don't want to get one and find out it's too small for this monster. Also, can this be taken off and reapplied for upgrades for instance?

get the 17" screen protector under M-tech... which say M570RU... which is the same size for the Clevo D901C (aka. Sager 9262)

Thats the one I plan on getting for my D900K

Thanks... and I just found the answer to my own question.

Q: What should I do if I need to send my device to the manufacturer?

A: There are times when you may need to send in your electronic device to the manufacturer for warranty repair work. If this is the case, we recommend taking the invisibleSHIELD off of your device before sending it in for repair. For instructions on removing the invisibleSHIELD, please click here.

Once you remove the invisibleSHIELD, please send it back to our office at the following address:

    ZAGG Inc
    3855 S. 500 W. Suite B
    Salt Lake City, UT 84115

Upon receipt of your invisibleSHIELD, we will send you a new invisibleSHIELD, free of charge, per our free replacement policy. Please note that the free shipping option is only available for new orders. For replacement orders you will be charged a minimal fee of $3.95 for shipping and handling. (Sending your original invisibleSHIELD back to our offices will keep your warranty intact).

    That is pretty kickass.

Did you read what I posted?

The screen protector is universal for all standard size screens:
    - 14.1", 15.4", 17", etc...

So order a screen for a notebook with the same size LCD.

Yes, there are multiple pieces if you want to protect more than just the screen... its called "case protector"

I'm not too keen on "Permanent" solutions. What if I ever want to take it off? Just imagine the residue that it leaves. I havent heard good things on this invisiblbeSHIELD product when you remove it. I heard it leaves some pretty nasty stuff.

You can remove it. Although they say to only remove it if you are sending the system in for warranty.

Its like a sticker, so I do not believe it would leave anything nasty... like a decal.

Q: Can the invisibleSHIELD be removed?

A: The invisibleSHIELD is completely removable. Better still, unless you take it off yourself, the invisibleSHIELD will stay put. Originally designed to protect helicopter blades, the invisibleSHIELD will stay on under the roughest circumstances. Unlike the inexpensive static cling protectors, the invisibleSHIELD is meant to last!

Q: How do I remove the invisibleSHIELD if I need to?

A: Removing the invisibleSHIELD from your electronic device is easier than it may seem. It is much like peeling off a sticker. You will want to start at one corner and slowly peel back at a 90 degree angle. The use of a hair dryer to heat it up can be helpful in sensitive areas.

Amazing. After letting it dry for the time frame they listed, it looks a heck of a lot better. A lot of the tiny air bubbles that I was having trouble getting rid of are now gone. :) Very translucent on the white model. :D

    Lol.. Yeah it's hidden well.

The one thing I noticed is that you have to do everything very slowly, take your time basically. The first time I put the top part on, it looks horrible and it wasn't centered right. Then I tried it again but it still wasn't centered and there were a few bubbles that would not go away. Finally after 30min, I got it the way I liked it. Obviously in the second picture it's not on perfectly because you can see it hanging off the edge by 1mm or so. I wish they would have shrunk the size a tish bit more so that I could fit it on a little better. Oh well.

I also had to use the blow drying method for getting the edges/corners to adhere to the sides.

All in all, it was definitely worth the money I spent on it. My digital camera, well, I think $5 is a little excessive for one invisibleSHIELD.

That looks really good. Now I'm hyped!

The instructions make it sound relatively easy to install, was it?

lol, a bullet proof EEE PC... interesting thought for a supposed inexpensive notebook. :)

looks nice though, so I would not worry about the 1mm of misalignment

I didn't even look at the instructions.

Okay, I looked at the video on their website but the pieces for my Eee PC had no instructions what so ever (my digital camera did have instructions, weird?).

Basically you wash your hands first. Then spray some of the solution they provide on your fingertips. Carefully remove the piece(s) from the paper. On the sticky side, spray some of the solution so that it's pretty moist and wet. This will make it very easy to maneuver the piece over the given surface area. After you have gotten it centered, use the provided squeegee and push all the air bubbles out. Let it dry for 12-24hrs and you're good to go. :)

Edit: Yeah, I'm not too worried about the over-covering. I think it was actually impossible for me to fit it perfectly on top without having any overhang. I think it's just the way they cut out the piece.

Yes agree on the part that you need to do it slowly.
I wish I had known that earlier, but my iPhone still looks great.
I'm gonna apply this on all my gadgets from now on ...

If you are talking about this:
    http://www.invisibleshield.com/laptop/compal/hel80.php

Then you are not actually buying the screen protector... this is the case protector.

You should look for a 15.4" notebook that has the screen protector option, because it would fit on any 15.4" screen... including your unit.

I recommend to just contact them and order over the phone for the 15.4" screen protector.
