The 8204 is available via delivery only, but it's one heck of a price:
    $2049.99 after $250 instant savings...no rebates.

The 5672 is available in-store and for delivery:
    $1199.99 after $150 instant and $150 rebate.

Wow, nice price. Isn't always the case you order something then someone puts it on sale shortly thereafter.

People need to keep in mind that Compusa will charge Tax so online retailers may still be cheaper.

****! Anyone know any way to get buy.com to offer a refund to those who purchased last week?

    Best,

That's not the same laptop. If you do a separate search for the 8204WLMI, you get one priced at $2500 instead. Also, if you look in the specs for that one, it states that it has 2 GB of RAM, but upgradable to 2 GB of RAM, which doesn't make a lot of sense. It looks to me like buy.com screwed up a little bit, and the price comparison website you probably used to find that link was fooled (I did the same thing, but got suspicious at the low price).

Be aware that the 5672 from Compusa comes with windows XP Home, NOT XP Pro like it did several weeks ago with the other $250 mail in rebate. I was very surprised when I looked at the box when I got home tonight. I have yet to open it. I am trying to decide if I sould keep it or try for a Dell with a good coupon.... or wait for the 14" Asus models that are supposed to be out in the next month or so....
    Sorry to ramble...

They list the correct model number for the 8204: LX.TAX06.034, so it looks genuine to me.
