The article compares Acer 3003, Dell 1200, Compaq 2000. Toshiba and Gateway also offer models in that range recently. Main flaw to the Acer, and a major one, is battery life it seems to me. :budget:

Absolutely Z,a tool for the budget minded recreational user. Not everyone is necessarily looking to earn an advanced degree in thermonuclear physics from MIT. Oops, looks my old tower needs a little help in the spell check department.

Ok Z, checking the BF specials I like the HP at Walmart but a difficult reach. The best Buy Toshiba L25 looks like my best choice now. I have a Staples next door and their Acer deal is right up there. Still have not seen anything posted from Circuit City. Waiting for BF was a great thought, thanx.

One of the BF sites mentions a rumor that Office depot may match Walmart at 398 for the HP, worth waiting for. :budget:

I like the HP better than the Toshiba just cause I like the Sempron CPU better. Someone was saying the HP is limited to 1GB of memory which is a bummer.
