    Looks like there is an standard Seagate ST2000LM003 inside, I could have saved an £10 if i had known.

    It's not that simple. You have to find an external drive that is 120mm or more long which is an indication of an SATA-USB adapter. External enclosures that are around 115mm long (eg the Seagate slim that I've just ordered) have onboard USB. The old model Seagate Expansion Portable with the angular case has the SATA drive plus adapter (I've got one and looked inside) while the new model is shorter - indicative of onboard USB.

    So the video i posted was the old version with the standard ST2000LM003 inside, the new version has the usb 3.0 built into the hdd.

    Well that cheers me up, as i did not loose money :)
