    it was @ my local best buy. but usually all the best buys in my area clearance the same higher ticket price items. but that's why i put your mileage may vary. it might not be available in some people's area. that was such a great price i was going to buy it and sell it.

    I made the trip to my local best buy. The laptop was on clearance, but for 1099.99 (down from 1199.99)! Are clearance item prices set by individual stores? Is my hometown store just behind the schedule? I would have sprung for the laptop at 719.99.

    clearances vary i think by region and supply/demand. the best buys i went to say original price was 1999.00 but that's bs. way overpriced for specs, even for an asus.

    positive. i asked though, but that doesn't mean much considering how much best buy employees lie.
