I think it's a warm (nearing hot) price, not hot though ;)

The G53 for 899$ was a hot deal back in December!

    Nice find nonetheless ;)

Expect to see lots of price drops in the next couple months to make way for Ivy Bridge / Kepler stuff. Decent deal, but could be better still.

King if you wait I would see what Sager has to offer, I read they will have lighted KB's for their gaming models when they are refreshed. I would not recommend ASUS gaming laptops to anyone.

Nope, nothing wrong with it. And it's brand new, not a refurb.

You might want to consider this one as well:
    http://www.gentechpc.com/config.asp?config_id=MSI-MS-16F2

It's got a nVidia 570 (the Asus laptops have a 560) for better gaming performance.

They're nearly the same price too, just make sure you customize i7/7200rpm HD/W7 and it's under 1300$ (after 3% discount).

Is this a Best Buy "gimped" 560M version?

    No G74s have the 128-bit 560M.

Easy way to tell, look at the amount of video RAM:

    1.5 or 3 GB = full 192-bit
    2 GB = inferior 128-bit

    Thanks!
I looked at several G73's and G74's so i wasn't exactly sure about this version.

I think it's a good deal but until mid April do you think there is a chance of a even better deal? I'm looking for a "cheap" Laptop with 560M,570M or 6970M. I haven't found something cheaper than 1200$.

    EDIT:
    I found a G74 BB-Version:

Umm... the BB G74's have 128bit 560m and a 1600x900 screen. Also a gimped warranty. Don't buy from BB.
