    Acer Aspire AS7750G-6645 NX.RVHAA.002 Notebook PC - Intel Core i5-2450M 2.5GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, AMD Radeon HD 7670M, 17.3 Display, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit at TigerDirect.com

Because of the i5 it should have a bit more performance than the Asus K53TA. The 7670M is just a rebranded 6650M. So who didn't get a K53TA has a chance now to get something similar. :D

Yeah, but how much will you have to pay for that shiny new tech? This is the "deals" subforum, after all ;)

Also, trying to bypass the filter is against forum rules. Just saying.

Price/performance ratio is very high on this- this was at least $1000-900 last year. The i7-2630m, 6850m variant is a stronger performer which was fetching $1100 to 1200 last year. 50% discount after 11-10 months with still strong medium performace is nothing to scoff at especially at $500. Kepler is second rate tech against the new 7700m series.

According to notebookcheck- the 7670m is above the gt 630m- at the level at the gt 550m. Simple overclock brings this up to 7690m and above- 35 watt i5-2450 is still an excellent and speedy CPU. What can you complain about for $500? They did up the price on this $50 at Tiger Direct. I am really sore that this unit has an open slot for another HDD but the backplate has plastic fillers that makes it impossible to cover it up unles you order another backplate for 2 HDD. There seems to be an open m-pcie slot also on the bottom. The 5400 rpm 500gb HDD appears responsive enough as it's interface is sata 3 and boot time is good. Usual bloatware but not excessive- added another 4gb of ram and the system is good to go and the bigger screen is way easy on reading for your eyes. Speakers are clear and loud. You may not get ultra settings on your games, but it's features and performance vs. price point gives you a very good all around medium laptop that can still game and be speedy enough for your tasks. I am not spending $1500-1900 dollars on a 675m or 7970m system just to game. Well even another $1000-1100 when sensible and cheap alternatives would still work.

MSI afterburner or TRIXX. There is a lot of info in the foums about OCing the 7750g's GPU. Getting nice frame rates in Civ5. But don't expect high settings on every game or else your FPS will suffer. The 7670m is a mid-range card and even with OC, expect it to perform as such. It should run all games with good FPS matched with the speedy i5-2450m and some at high settings.

You'll probably need a hard drive caddy. Check eBay or Google.
