Target has the 90 return policy on that one (I'm fairly certain)?...Hang on to it..and I suggest getting this one w/the Bing CB. And, see which one works out best for you! ;) Even without Bing, it's still a nice deal at $189.99. I want to be for certain that newegg follows thru on the 10% CB.

Aw... :( I just wished it comes with a matte screen instead of a glossy one. :( Anyway, this is still a very awesome deal, especially if one manages to get it during the Black Friday sale. :)

Sorry folks, this was a B.S. Black Frday bait and switch by Newegg!!

I ordered this black Friday sale item Exactly when it became available Friday morning at 6:00am pst. Set my clock, woke up, put it in my cart even before the sales page updated the new price.(price WAS correct in the order cart!) Placed my order immediately without waiting one extra second. Order went through fine. Now I see 10 minutes later that my order got canceled as there were none left. This just can't be! I had to be the first one to complete the order for this. So was this some bait and switch to get people to their site even though they had NONE available! This just is not right. I passed up other great deals waiting for this! I am sooo pissed!!!

I'm in the same boat as you hdlern. I checked out the instant the sale started. After about two minutes of waiting for the page to load, NewEgg reported their servers were having trouble and couldn't process checkouts. Immediately tried again - re-added the item to my cart and went to checkout, but it had already been yanked out. I was really counting on this one too since I live far away from any brick and mortar stores.

FYI, a Dell Mini 10v is essentially the same netbook-you can get them from the Dell outlet for around $250 IIRC.

Yeah, I also tried to purchase the $189 Acer AOD250 from Newegg. I kept trying to checkout with the product in my shopping cart, finally placed an order, and it was immediately cancelled. They did not hesitate to charge my credit card though. I can imagine what would happen if I went to a brick-and-mortar store, and a clerk yanked a product out of my shopping cart or immediately returned my order after I purchased a product. Suffice it to say, Newegg has lost a loyal customer with the hassle they put me through.

Happy to report that after much conversation (at least 2 hours), Newegg first agreed to honor the price when they restocked... Then actually allowed me to substitute it with the AOC250-1580 (same unit in sapphire blue) for the same price! I like the blue better anyway. So I have to give Newegg a shout out and 2 thumbs way up! Don't know if I ended up losing the Bing 10%, but at that price I'm still good with it.

i was under the assumption that with the usage of any coupons (like the $20 off (mmchbf) code) that knocked it down to $189, it voids any bing cashback?

    http://www.bing.com/shopping/pages/faq.aspx?FORM=R5FD3#WhatsTheDealWithCouponsOrSpecialsAtTheStore

What's the deal with coupons or specials at the store?

The cashback program terms and conditions state that coupons could void your cashback rewards. Some stores may allow purchases made using coupons to earn cashback. Your best bet is to check with the store before making a purchase. We need to comply with the policies of stores that ask us to cancel a cashback reward because a coupon was used.

This will be interesting...I supposedly got one of these...I was on the site right at 9AM, etc...my order has been charged...not cancelled...but I haven't gotten any shipping info yet. I see now they have that same spec'd laptop in white, blue and red. I have one of the Best Buy Gateways from last week sitting here unopened as a backup, but wanted this one...already have an accessory bundle coming, etc etc. Lordy I hope this goes through.

This was posted on Newegg's facebook page:

"Hi Fans, due to the overwhleming response for the Acer Aspire One Netbook this morning, we will be contacting every customer who completed checkout on this item but was then sent an email stating that the item was out of stock."

So don't fret if your order got cancelled, Newegg is pretty good about working with customers. If you don't get a message in your inbox, I would suggest using their Live Chat on weekdays.

All orders placed on Friday usually get shipped on Monday, I don't think you have to worry tvccs. :)

I now have tracking info from Newegg with a scheduled Wednesday delivery coming out of Memphis. I'm interested to hear what Newegg will be doing with what sounds like the many people that tried to get this system and ran into the stocking issues reported here. I see now that Newegg has moved this item to "deactivated" status. The reports on the Facebook page so far are not good, with the promised contact from Newegg generally being an e-mail explaining people are screwed with multiple "out-of-stock emails.

I was also on @ exactly 9AM (est) and had problems checking out,by the time it went through it then came back that it was removed from cart. Tried again 2 more times and finally received an out of stock page.
I emailed their customer support and got a reply back today pretty much saying "sorry-you're out of luck etc" and offering me a 10 dollar coupon for future use. Will have to try getting them to honor the original price tomorrow after seeing this info here, although I'm not getting my hopes up!!

Well I had better luck. I complained to them on Friday (via e-mail), and received a response Sunday night also basically telling me I was out of luck. They offered me a $20 discount toward my next purchase as a courtesy, however.

I was all geared up to write them and let them know that just wouldn't be good enough, but then I noticed that they had just started the $199 EeePC sale for Cyber Monday. I nailed it and had them apply the $20 discount to it and, when S/H was accounted for, ended up getting a netbook for $5 less than what they had on Black Friday. :D
