MicroCenter has the Acer Predator G9-793-78CM 17-inch gaming notebook for $1399 + tax. This is a markdown of $600 from the previous retail price. It comes with an i7 6700HQ CPU, 16 GB of RAM, 8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, 2x128 GB SSD in RAID-0, 1 TB spinning hard drive, 1080p 75 Hz G-Sync compatible built-in display, and Windows 10 Home.

I think this deal is only valid in store, but if you have a location nearby, this is a pretty excellent buy.

If you go through the Gaming Laptops section of MicroCenter's website, they're marking down a bunch of Skylake systems, including some from MSI. I only posted this particular one because I thought it was the best deal of the bunch.

Considering I paid $2k for my P670RS and it didn't come with any hard drive or operating system, I'd say this is a great deal. If I still had my P770ZM, I'd have been all over this. The Acer's form factor is similar to the Alienware 17 R4, so the cooling should be pretty decent.

An excellent deal indeed, thanks for posting.

You would be doing well if you found a GeForce GTX 1060 at this price, given the other specs of the notebook, let alone a GTX 1070. The latter is 30-40 percent faster.

I agree, excellent deal. I'm not a big fan of RAID, but it's still 256GB of fast OS storage with a 1070 and fast G-sync LCD.
