This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Great deal if that's the exact configuarion you want, but if it isn't, well, then it's not a good deal.

    That's no deal at all. I can build that same configuration on HP's website for the same price. I'm unfortunately in one of those states where you have to pay the rip off tax rate though, but hop onto the Academic discount program and it'll take care of most of that.

    The only good thing I see in that deal is the $100 rebate which you'll probably never see because of some trivial technicality.

    The configuration leaves much to be desired as well. And where the heck did Amazon get the $1375 "normal list price" from? On HP's website I can glitz out an L2000 with almost everything for that price.
